*** Nintendo Switch ***

Whatever they're going to announce I do wish they'd hurry up!
I was tempted to pick up Zelda on the WiiU, but if the NX version is going to look and run better I'll just hold on for that.
I do like to plan out my console/game purchases well in advance, Nintendo you're not making things easy.

Seen a few online mention that Tesco's had a order page up for the nx @ £349... less power than a ps4 and priced at ps4 pro level...
Can't double check if it was click bait as at work and having a crafty browse on the Web :p

The gap between a wii u and something that falls behind a normal ps4 is hardly much of a step up

By the time it's out the ps4 pro has been out for months and the xbox Scorpio ain't far behind.

There's a huge gap between the PS4 and the Wii U....

Being behind the PS4 doesn't mean it's no more powerful than than a Wii U. That is incredibly poor logic.

Tesco are calling it Nintendo NX Wii U. So clearly they've no idea what they're on about.

That would indicate that the NX is a failure already if idiots are mistaking it for WiiU. That was one of the WiiU's big issues... simple folk thought it was a Wii peripheral.

If it's a handheld and it's not as powerful as a PS4, then that makes sense. They can't go from pitifully weak (3DS) to better than home console on a handheld in that time with such budget (cos it must also be priced reasonably). The 'not as strong as PS4' rumours suggest to me that it is a handheld that somehow connects with the TV. Maybe the base station might increase power somehow? Idk, I'm just taking swings here.

The Tesco thing is just a placeholder page with a placeholder price so means nothing. "WiiU" is mentioned most likely because it's the closest related product.

The fact is that Nintendo have revealed almost nothing about the NX, so nothing is really certain still. It's most likely something like the handheld reported by Eurogamer not too long ago, but even that is sketchy - many believe that to be a controlled leak.

The computational power of the device will ultimately relate to the market it is primarily aimed at. I don't agree NX needs to be "4 tflops at minimum" if it's designed to be an affordable device aimed at the family market. It's not going to compete directly with Playstation and Xbox platforms, so relating technical expectations with those devices doesn't seem realistic.

I'm pretty sure Nintendo officially mentioned somewhere that NX will release the end of March, due to the fact that they want a large amount of launch titles (instead of releasing it holiday season like everyone always does).

At this point the NX is either going to be so amazing grown men are going to cry like babies when they first see it or it's going to be a major let down.

Why you no release any information Nintendo

Nintendo could have shown a lot of new stuff at E3 with NX, but the timing wasn't right for whatever reason. Miyamoto stated: “Normally we would’ve shown the NX at E3, but we didn’t. We’re worried about imitators if we release info too early.”

Yeah the official date is March 2017 for NX, any later will mean an official delay.

I can see the possibility of Zelda coming a month or two later to keep momentum going after launch, but they also need something to satisfy core gamers on day 1. If Zelda doesn't fill that gap then something else will.

Well at least we know Ubisoft will be supporting it at launch. They see it as a great opportunity to try new IP. We all know people buy launch games even if they're crap as we need something to play.
