*** Nintendo Switch ***

The problem with not releasing any information is that people fill in the gaps and rumours spread with little to no factual basis. Hype is created and people build the event up to be amazing and ultimately they come away disappointed as it hasn't met their expectations. Expectations which are baseless, but expectations none the less.

Dont get me wrong I'm quite interested in the NX and this is coming from someone who fell out of love with video games several years ago. I havent purchased hardware for the last two generations and I doubt I will purchase either of the next Xbox or PlayStation offerings as they offer nothing new (in my opinion though VR could be interesting if done well). Which is funny really as I've got more money than ever to invest in hobbies/entertainment.

Will the NX offer new gaming ideas and experiences, or is it simply the same games now with added portability? We shall see.

I keep checking eurogamer thinking "it just HAS to be anyday now surely"
But no.

When are they going to actually tell us what we want haha

Boogie2988 reckons the device will play two "modes" of a game depending on whether it's docked or not. The example he gave was playing Assassin's Creed. You get the full fat game when docked and then something similar to the mobile games when portable.

My own example could be playing The Witcher 3 when docked and then when you go out and about, it lets you play Gwent, the card game.

If the time skip doesn't work, he mentions the NX at 35 minutes in exactly.

That's interesting - I feel like development costs could be quite high if developers are essentially developing 2 games for a single release. But it would explain how they could handle the different screen form factors and the expectations around that.

Being able to just continue playing the same game on the go sounds exciting, and this goes against that somewhat.

Perhaps he's interpreted it that way, but it might not necessarily be a different game in the same universe, and instead a different version(configuration) of the same game.

Well at least we know Ubisoft will be supporting it at launch. They see it as a great opportunity to try new IP. We all know people buy launch games even if they're crap as we need something to play.

I'd bet on Ubisoft developing another mature themed game for Nintendo's launch - as they did with Red Steel and ZombiU. I'm sure we'll see more than Just Dance, at least.

Yeah, it seems to contradict his other line of saying the NX is easy to develop for. Making two games doesn't fit with that.

It'll probably be more like the same game running at 1080p with better graphics when docked and when portable it drops to 720p with fewer effects.

So with the rumoured tired pricing, do we think that the higher price will include the NX, dock and a possible controller?

I can't see them going with detached controllers (from the NX) if I'm being honest.
