*** Nintendo Switch ***

Jesus, I'd cancel if I was you.

I realise it came across as dramatic but persistent syncing issues with the controller is unacceptable. Hopefully our launch units won't be affected but you'd imagine they're from the same batches that reviewers are getting their hands on and it doesn't look like a single isolated occurrence.

Especially since it won't have the stupid ass 2 minute load times that the Wii U version had.

Was a great and often missed Wii u game, but yeah them load times, more so the first load up was a killer ^_^

Be interesting to see performance improvements on the Switch and comparisons to other formats :)

Engadget said the screen was quite poor outdoor in sunlight, that's a bit of a shame.
Was to be expected really, the vita is pretty bad to use outside too. Thankfully I live in Glasgow so outdoor in sunlight isn't much of an issue for me lol

I read about the poor screen performance in direct sunlight. But phones are no different so I was expecting that.

I imagine third parties will start cooking up their own solutions. Anti glare filters and the like.

Looks like an inherent issue with the joycon wireless signal. Not sure a firmware/software update can sort it tbh but with every single site reporting this issue I expect Nintendo to respond soon.

I think that might be the intention. Ignore them. You can always return a faulty unit. It's nothing.
Exactly. To write off an entire console order because of a potential faulty batch of controller issues is "looking" for a reason to cancel imo. Anyone remember the red ring of death on the Xbox 360? :p

Let's see how it plays out. Won't cancel personally, worst case they'll just replace the faulty bits.

Other than that, really good reception of the device in press.

My suspicion is that they have set the signal strength on the joycon transmitters quite low to maintain battery life. They might be able to increase with a firmware update but they might not.

Doesn't seem a huge issue really.

Does the desync issue still happen with it in the joy con grip?

Yes, it's being reported in the grip too with it being easier to block/lose signal when over 6' away from the console. I had a DS4 which suffered something similar.

The Xbox 360 RROD only became apparent months after launch, I went through 9 consoles. This is a little different though, it's been glaringly obvious and noticeable to every single review site so how did Nintendo miss it?

Hopefully it's as simple as this but it is putting doubt in my mind as I'm already paying over the odds for the console. It's 2017, wireless controllers aren't a new technology this shouldn't even be a thing.

The sync issue to me is not a biggie, yes it's a mistake but it isn't something that cannot be easily fixed/replaced. It happens, in the grand scheme of console problems this is pretty low. Overall this machine is looking really nice.

I like how it looks like a premium piece of kit and every single site has remarked that it isn't flimsy or cheap feeling.

Controller issue isn't enough to put me off or I would've already cancelled but it's miffed me off a bit.
