*** Nintendo Switch ***

But again, you know what you are buying from the outset, it's really not hidden. I would have been more concerned if nintendo claimed 4 hour life and it came up as it is. I find it hard to believe that people want something with extra power (XB1 - PS4), but longer battery and the cost low. It really cannot happen.

By design the joycons cannot support a normal dpad because the concept was to take the console somewhere and use both as pads.

The joy con desyncing is a concern, however it IS comforting to see media outlets like digital foundry doing more concise tests to determine the drop outs and they are (personally for me) acceptable because my rooms are not larger than 5m.

The console is a machine of compromises, it won't be the fastest, or have the longest battery. The internal memory is small to keep costs low (and demand fair, as if they tiered models people would always want the biggest) but means we most likely will need to buy physical or by an SD at some point. With launch titles so slim, I know I don;t need to pony up if I want one immediately, just like upgrading the 500gb drive on my PS4, which hardly held any games due to their size.

My biggest concern will be the titles that nintendo can get out on this. AAA third party games are not my thing, however I apprieciate the need for something to keep the system popular. I hope most for good VC and first party games, as my pc covers most of my AAA gaming (the few games I do play)

I get your point but these guys arent regular consumers. They are there to critique a product...to give their opinion on it. Their opinion is that the battery life is poor. Whether its known or not isnt relevant.

My concern with third parties is that they'll do bare minimum(poor, low quality ports) to support the console and then cry foul at poor sales.

Realistically EA should be able to knock out a decent version of FIFA on this kind of hardware but I have a feeling it'll be trash when it comes.

I'd pony up for the Pro controller but I have a feeling I won't use it enough docked.

The console actually looks like a really nice bit of kit. The Neon Red/Blue is really nice too, I'd be a bit jealous if I ordered the boring grey one. :p

#Teamgrey - don't want get shanked on my bus :P

Now that is a good deal there. Never did get an email from them alerting me to new stock. Just a marketing stunt as I thought :)

Yeah, same. I heard that it was going to be the Neon Joyconn one aswell, I even went on the site to check it out. While I personally don't think the Switch is worth buying till Christmas, anyone who bought from Gameseek is the exception. They've got the best deal and should feel amazing about it.

AKA, pretty much what happened with WiiU. The sad thing is, there was massive potential. Ghost Recon Wildlands launches on Tuesday, they could have easily rode on the pre-release hype with a Switch version and have a Switch version close to release. I guarantee it would have sold systems AND it would have been the 2nd game that people bought alongside Zelda. A shame, the Switch will likely remain a Nintendo machine like the WiiU was. Is that enough for it to be a success? Who knows?

I really feel they should have included a disk drive in the docking station to allow you to play Wii and Wii U games both on the TV and on the handheld within range of the console. I also still like the Wiimote + nunchuk so it's a shame they've done away with that too.

I'll probably get one but like mathius I think I will wait until there's a decent catalogue of games as right now once I'm done with Zelda I can see it being a very expensive paperweight.
