*** Nintendo Switch ***

I could do the same with my local Tesco saying I could go get it tomorrow after 3 pm, trying to resist the urge , plus I can't find Zelda in stock anywhere

Wow. A lot of haters in here, to say they don't even own the console, let alone probably never even played one. :p

Meanwhile, I'm loving mine. I literally spent 8 hours on Zelda yesterday ! (Week off work ;) ) which I feel has already justified the price I paid for mine. Fantastic piece of kit.

Also, I've not experienced any issues with screen, joycons, or anything else for that matter.

Mario kart 8 next month! For the kids of course :p that's gonna be fantastic too.

For a home console? Zelda > Horizon Dawn by a considerable margin, but when you consider the PS4's catalogue you'd be bonkers to get a Switch over a PS4 at this stage imo.

They're different consoles, one is purely a home console the other a hybrid so you have to consider whether you'd use it on the go. If not, PS4 all day long.

Pretty much. As good as Zelda looks - it's taken all my willpower not to pick up a Switch - the PS4 has a great selection of exclusives. Some excellent 3rd party stuff too. Right now the Switch has Zelda and pretty much nothing until Mario, whenever that comes out.

If I hadn't already bought and thrashed Mario Kart 8 to death, this might have swayed things. For everyone who had it on the WiiU, though - the Switch version is barely more exciting than a map pack.

Is Mario Kart 8 getting any new features for the switch? Or is it the same as it was 3 years ago when first released?

Not managed to play as much as you, but will catch up soon hopefully. Got MK8 and the steering wheels coming also. Judging by the size of this game (Zelda) I will be lucky to complete it by the time MK8D arrives. Going to take it slow and enjoy everything it has to offer :p

It contains all the DLC plus a few extra things and a better battle mode AFAIK

Yeah. You can hold two items now, which will change things up a bit too - but basically it's a marginally better looking version of the original MK8. A bit like Zelda.

The Switch is a massively better prospect for someone who didn't own a WiiU.

I have a Wii U but never got MK8, I did finish Bayonetta 2 though.

The must have title and one for the classic status is Mariomaker. I guess they could make it on the Switch as it does have a touchscreen. That would be epic.

It must come out - even if it's just a port. In fact what i'm hoping most for with the Switch - partly because I've little faith in 3rd party support and Nintendo releasing enough content - is a host of ports and remakes. They've enough of a back catalogue to make the Switch an essential purchase even without anything new.

I'm off work so not got anything better to be doing really, especially with the weather we're having :D I've got the wheels on order with MK8 too.

I haven't played an MK game since the original wii. So very much looking forward to this one. (Unlocked everything on the original, including Rosalina. And I didn't have mario galaxy at the time either! :p)

MK8D has all the DLC, a better battle mode and also 4 extra new characters, including Link. From what I can recall. For those of us who never had it on the Wii-U, it is a bargain.

We had it on Wii U, but not had an Wii U for about a year now and miss it. Plus a Nintendo system without MK is not complete. Never really get bored of having a quick game now and then. Plus it will be 1080p now :D

Nice when people come over to put it on also, not like you can put on Zelda for that :p

MK9 won't be out for 2 years at least, this will keep us happy until then :)

I really hope Mario Maker comes on the swich.

I don't know why they don't release it and then do 'DLC' with basically their new mario side scroller. They could make a fortune constantly adding new worlds all the time.

If MK9 ever comes, what could they do different? Only ever one on the 3DS, wii and N64 iirc?

X1 with Forza Horizon, Gears 4, Quantum break, Halo Wars 2.

Seamless lounge integration with the best controller.

Did Sony ever fix the way all launch PS4's rattle about because they missed a foot off the bottom?

most of those X1 games are last year only halo wars is this year

idk if that's even a problem now
