*** Nintendo Switch ***

Just unboxed my Pro Controller. Very tidy controller and actually its great to use it as it feels more like a "sit down infront of telly controller" as opposed to the joy cons (which incidentally I have no problems with and think are absolutely awesome).

I have only used the joy cons attached to the Switch, which is fine but at home, it is Pro Controller all the way. Zelda (and I suspect most games are much better with it.

I do find the NPC for Amiibo harder to detect on the Pro Controller, its the Switch logo at the top.

So obviously the joycons and screen all have separate batteries, so are there 3 battery indicators to let you know what's running out? How's that displayed?

You can choose to have console battery percentage shown on the home screen.
If you go into "Controllers" in the main screen it shows the battery in each of the two Joycons and the Console, I assume it does this for Pro Controllers too.

Has anyone tried asking the forest place about stock coming in and order queues - they don't seem to have a clue or just won't say :o

Having played Zelda on the big screen it definitely does run worse than in portable mode, especially when in grass or when it rains. Still it's not unplayable at all and I got over it very quickly to the point where it doesn't bug me at all.

Zelda is so, so good. I have forgiven them for Skyward Sword, which retrospectively seems like a complete joke.

No issues with my console this far *touch wood*

I must add that those umming and ahhing about the outlay for the console that the pro controller is not an absolute must buy and you will get along fine using the included joycons and joycons grip that comes with the console.

Really happy with the purchase and have already taken advantage of the play anywhere a few times when I've been over to my parents!

My dock appears fine but I'll still grab a screen protector and I just need a case for when I'm transporting it!

My only gripe is the lack of good games on launch. Bar Zelda there isn't anything major till MK8 next month. No doubt Zelda would keep me occupied for a good few months but the lack of VC and more 1st party games is unacceptable really.

For me the pro controller is an essential purchase. I wouldn't fancy a 4/5 hour session using the just the joy cons, they're just not comfortable enough.

It's not so much the grip, it's the button size and the thumb sticks. The Pro controller is far, far more enjoyable to use.

So much so that I've travelled today and brought the pro controller with me in my overnight bag :p

I ordered a neon after release day and it just shipped yesterday without warning.

This would be inline with what I was told. Apparently they only know the unit count on the same day of delivery. I confirmed via the chat that if you buy direct from them, they will accept a return for even one dead/stuck pixel.

That's good to know. They've not shipped Zelda though and no stock either so still waiting.

Just played a couple of hours on the go, bit of advice for joy con only users disconnect them from the device they're infinitely more comfortable. I was sort of holding them at an angle, much better.

Not convinced with the stand though, feels very unsteady.

Why did they put the kick stand to the side, something more central would have made more sense.

My thoughts exactly, having it off to one side just means it's unstable.

It's not atrocious, but it definitely could be better.

Two kick stands would have been ideal.

One either side would be loads better.

Can see a Switch mk2 being likely.

This is Nintendo, who made 5 versions of the 3DS, so I am 100% certain there will be multiple updated versions in the future.

So again, its not an essential, its just your preference and just an essential for you. A large majority of Switch users get on absolutely fine using the joy cons in the grip as intended.
