*** Nintendo Switch ***

Random thought. I hope the dock has an ethernet connection. I'm all for wifi but I do prefer hardwired networking when at home. :)

But this is done right. The PS vita thing is awful really - I've had one since release btw.

Plus you can't play Mario on it ;)

Shame I can play Mario for hours, and hours. It just ooozes quality everytime. I don't need to wait on day one patches, or new DLC or whatever it work straight out the box just like everything Nintendo produces.

For me mario is boring. i get more enjoyment out on other games. Life is too short to just play one franchise. There is a whole leap of other franchises to discover and play.

Mario for me hasnt been relevant for the last 15 years.

you're not the only one. If it wasn't for the fact I mainly play offline games on the Wii U, I did actually research some USB to ethernet adapters just in case!

I enjoy proper platformers. Not necessarily just Mario. But thats usually what Mario does well, hence the enjoyment.

A game I love on the Xbox One for example is Ori and the Blind Forest. Amazing.

younger generation rather play GTA or witcher 3 tbh or better yet pokemon Go or whatever the current FAD is in mobike gaming.

Honestly handheld gaming is dead.

Nintendo should have gone up against the ps4/xbone and make a new console that can play 4k mario etc.

Nintendo should also try and create a new franchise instead of rehashing mario and zelda all the time.

People moan how theres tons of sequals on xbone/ps4 yet it seems ok for Nintendo to rehash Mario to death?

There is far more new unique titles coming out/out already on xbone/ps4 like division, last guadian etc etc.

I see more fresh titles coming from xbone/ps4 then nintendo...

But we had the original GTA round about the same time(Which was a beast of a game back then.) and it didn't stop me playing and massively enjoying Zelda:OOT.

I just prefer Nintendo trying something different rather than teraflop chasing like the others. If you want gorgeous looking games at high FPS PC is your only real option anyway... At least until the PS5/Xbone2 come along. I cant see the Scorpio or the 4.5 mastering 4k at high FPS anyway.

Technically, I know what you're saying, but for my lifestyle situation it's a game changer. I soley bought the Wii U as I could play it on and off the TV, and I play 80% of my Xbox One through game streaming, it just fits my way of life better than using the big tv

"Please look at the TV" - Almost every Wii U game I've played so far. Guess I better go back downstairs and see what it wants: "Press A to Continue"

You have little to no chance. It will be Wi-Fi with probable option of adaptor.

This really does look good! I don't want Nintendo going up against Sony/Ms in the POWER race, I have a pc for high res high framerate games. I want Something different from Ninty, and this ticks all the boxes for me. I showed the reveal trailer to my daughter yesterday and the first things she said was wow and can we get one! Say what you want about Mario and Zelda games but they sell consoles. Mario 3d world was played for hours and hours in my house, we loved every minute of it. In my opinion there is more innovation and love put into Mario 3d world then the last 5 Call of duty or fifa games.

Looking at the price of the Nvidia Shield I hope that is a good indication of cost at £170 as that should be the ceiling of a Nintendo product.

I'm not sure that's a good indicator of the price the Nintendo Switch will be.

The Nvidia Shield doesn't include any controller or dock. It's £49.99 (RRP) for a separate Nvidia Shield controller for example. Also the Shield K1 is a slight re-brand of older hardware where this is likely to be newer technology (more RAM and storage etc.).

I would guess this is going to be more expensive than the current price of the Nvidia Shield. Even Nintendo's older 3DS consoles still sell for £180.

Can't see them releasing models with different amounts of memory. Especially if it will accept external storage.
