*** Nintendo Switch ***

Cannot remember the exact name of it, but it'll stick out like a sore thumb when you're looking for it.
 
Wonder how many Lakitu other half has shifted, I imagined they've gone like hot cakes. I'd milk it while I could, Mario versions etc.
 
Away with work for a few days, very happy I picked up a Switch.

Playing Zelda in tablet / handheld mode feels more impressive than docked as you are reminded its a hand held, just doesn't seem right fitting such a huge open world game onto one. Finally completed my first Divine Beast (Zora), went hunting for more towers and came across a huge electric dragon was pretty cool.
 
Think I might jump into Shovel Knight as well as a few others on here. £23 seems like a fair price to pay for a lot of game.

i don't understand comments like this. it's a brand new console and has 1 amazingly great game to play. many people on here are talking as though the switch is the best console ever in the history of consoles after 1 week of it being around with just 1 game worth playing.

granted it looks to be a fantastic console and one i 100% want to get, but i just don't see why people are saying it's their favourite as though that has any weight to it. yet

people last week commenting, "i've not touched my ps4 since i got the switch" erm it's 4 days old, zelda is a big game, why would you touch the ps4, why do you think that has any value...
 
So if you download the parental control app, you can view how many hours you've played. It only updates monthly for stats. But it also works day to day after the app has been installed. :)

Seriously it's just a cool thing. It isn't a PS4 in terms of whatever but it's just a great thing to have. Zelda, RMX and soon Mario Kart, i am just in love with it. Best 2 weeks gaming I've had in a long time.

I suspect a lot of them are people like me, who hadn't realised that a portable/ hybrid actually suits their gaming habits & general life much better than other consoles.
Zelda is a particularly important benchmark because it shows just how little we are being asked to sacrifice in order to have this flexibility - it really doesn't leave me envying anything else on any other platform (for context, I have basically been PC + Nintendo for a long while).
While you might disparage 'indie'/ download games, I don't - Fast RMX is a technological showcase & a fun game too. I am Setsuna is a 7/10 but happens to be a 7/10 that suits what I'm after great, so for me it's better than that.

If thats a bad point then i assume you have similar feelings to Zelda?
I actually think Horizon compares to Zelda more then most titles to be honest...ditferent art style sure but the mechanics are similar.

Is that Zelda? Cos I was starting to lose interest a little the other day and then I discovered some new neat stuff that reignited my appreciation for the game. I'm glad that I'm still discovering cool stuff a week on, otherwise I'd be highly disappointed.

At that, the one game to play is also on WiiU and the Switch version isn't really definitive (unless you count 900p>720p) since it looks and performs pretty much the same. What didn't make sense to me were folks who either had a WiiU or sold their WiiU for a Switch. Could have done that well after Zelda.

Most of all it just pays to be patient. Early adopters will always get the short end of the stick, heck I felt bad for paying £360 for my WiiU and 2 games in it's first year. Not this time, plus it's a handheld. All the more chance they'll do a 'new' Switch with improved battery life and such. I can always buy several games if I buy a Switch a year or 2 on, rather than one right now that won't keep my attention long enough.

So far she's done 82. The fabric should arrive today and I have had to give her the day off work to get this all done!! Thank you to everyone, she's made up and says she will buy a new freezer with the money hehe. We will see :P
