*** Nintendo Switch ***

I have a few I intend to get eventually (Uncharted 4 being the main candidate) but overall I have not been as wowed with any PS4 games as I have been with Zelda.

TLoU was my first PS4 game as I didn't get it for my PS3 and I was a bit underwhelmed after all the gushing praise it had got. I was bored after an hour or so. I should go back to it one day

Wash your mouth out ;)

The game is about (among other things) character relationship, love, hate, regret and loss. You need to get to the end of the game to feel the whole journey that the characters go through together. One hour is pretty meaningless. Get back to it! :)

He said from a console gamers perspective ;) any sane minded console gamer wouldn't bother wasting money on a pc that gets out dated a week after purchase. :p
Ah fair enough. However worth mentioning is, the only thing I upgrade on my pc is graphics card. Rest lasts just as long as if not longer than a console. Upgrading graphics card need to cost much if you buy and sell at the right time anyway ;)

Still, best combo imo is PC and Switch :D

What battery time are people getting from the Switch when playing things like Shovel Knight? I'm getting 2.5 - 3 hours on average when playing Zelda. I'd assume at least another hour if playing titles less intensive.

I was down to 45 percent after 3 hours of shovel Knight on and off.

I completed tlou and while it has a good story for a video game, it doesn't match it's reputation.

So will we be seeing more Zelda variations of the Switch cover? :)
I don't even own a switch yet and I am wanting one!
Get it done! :)

Word on the grapevine is more WW & OOT variations... ;)

I'll probably end up ordering a couple in time, and swap them over from time to time!

Nintendo Switch has shifted 1.5m in its first week, according to http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2017-03-14-nintendo-switch-has-sold-1-5m-worldwide-superdata

Nintendo has sold 1.5m Nintendo Switch consoles worldwide, SuperData says.

Using data supplied to it by both Famitsu and GfK, SuperData says that 500,000 consoles were sold in the US, 360,000 were sold in Japan while Europe 'isn't far behind'. The data tracker observes that 85,000 units were sold in the UK while France managed 110,000.

Most of those figures were for the first week on sale, so the number will now be higher. Nintendo says its aim was to sell 2m Switch consoles by the end of March - these figures suggest it is well on its way to hitting that target. Furthermore, Nintendo's financial reports count 'sell in' to retailers (and SuperData's estimates are sell-through), so it's possible Nintendo has already hit its target for the quarter.

If anyone was unsure as to what is driving the performance of the hardware, SuperData says 89% of Switch owners have bought the new Zelda game - which amounts to 1.34m in sales (and does not include sales of the Wii U version).

Switch has had a solid start to life, but the challenge now is to maintain momentum. Launch week sales, although important, neither make or break a console. 3DS enjoyed a very strong start to life, but sales faded away rapidly after release - hurt by a lack of game releases - forcing Nintendo to accelerate its development pipeline and drop the price of the machine within six months.

However, the platform holder says it is confident it can avoid a repeat performance with Nintendo Switch due to some significant first party products including Mario Kart 8 Deluxe next month.

Great :)

Is there a 'best' case or screen protector I should be going for? Apologies I imagine it has been discussed but this thread has a life of its own :D

Also tempted by shovel knight, never played it

I'm very happy with the protector that has come with the official case. Don't see me needing to change it over for a while.

I guess Splatoon and Mario count otherwise I'm not too sure

Hmm, other than Mario no real interest personally. Am definitely looking forward to Minecraft whenever that comes out though, oh and Lego City Undercover at the start of April.

It always ran like a dog on WiiU (those loading times as well!!!) so i'm hoping the Switch will be nice and smooth.
