*** Nintendo Switch ***

So how did everyone get on with Splatoon 2?

I got to play 2 games, then it went down for maintenance. Sadly, that was when I was just handing the controller over to my 6yo nephew who was excited to try it.

It was ok, I couldn't stand the aiming turning when you strafe. It made strafing pointless as you had to compensate for that when aiming.

No Switch yet for me. I'm just an obsessed geek spreading the good will of the Nintendo love.

But yeah my services ain't for free. Trust me for a paypal address ;)

Busy weekend so didn't get a chance to try out Splatoon. Not sure if it's really one for me, anyway.

Same for me, was keen to have a play since I've never tried it and passed me by on Wii U.

People say the mechanics are solid but I just don't like the style of it, I don't mind it not being a hardcore realistic shooter as am a TF2 and Overwatch fan.

The gyro for Splatoon became the way to play it by this stage. I never got into it on S1, but having played a round on the recent testfire, I was quite impressed with it - I didn't actually think about it, I just did. I was a big advocate of motion controls in FPS. I adored Metroid Prime 3 on the Wii because of it, and the trilogy I felt was vastly improved. That's with the pointer however, which I suppose is slightly different.

Splatoon is a must buy for me anyway. A very refreshing game.

So does the pro controller not have any motion controlling? meaning Joy cons really is the way forward for this game in particular?

Yes, but with it you turn left and right like you're turning a steering wheel.

It's hard to make your brain work with that but if you can then it works just as well as the split joycons. When using the pro pad I still fail to turn left and right occasionally when under pressure while with the joycons it's completely natural.

I don't have one :)

I have more posts than anyone in this thread because I was (and still am) extremely excited about the Switch, for many reasons. I got very sick & tired of coming to this thread to see people bickering over specs, or moaning about this and that...and it was from people who had little intention of ever buying the console!

I am all up for good debate, like anyone. But it just became a depressing thread to visit. I wanted to stop it ruining my joy for the Switch :p

So, I made a point of beginning to share anything positive about the Switch. Be it game releases, news, reviews and what not...that's all.

I'll be getting my Switch in July. Before then I'll be slowly picking up accessories. Like the dock sock...next up is either the pro controller or the Anker 20100.

Anyway, many many thanks to Lakitu and his gf. Love the dock sock!
