*** Nintendo Switch ***

I'm not too sure either. I thought I would like Dynasty Warriors way back but got bored of it quickly. Perhaps the Mosou type game has moved on since then? The Zelda theme obviously appeals...

I think the Zelda theme is the main draw for me, I've not tried a Mosou game before mind.

Bit if a tangent but is Enter the Gungeon worth a look?

Never played one unfortunatly.

I was pointed to this amazing Reddit post about the game explaining what it's about etc

I read over it loosely because I am at work but it seems pretty accurate. It's a game that's all about the quick blast but loads of content. If reading that makes it appeal to you then I would recommend it. Check Youtube for some gameplay videos and such too.

I got put off the myriad of random dungeon games by The Binding of Isaac being rubbish after all the rave reviews.

How is Mario Tennis with a single joy con for multiplayer?
Not tried it. We use both joycons for one controller and the pro controller for the second player.

Will be getting Tennis in time for Christmas :p For me it's multiplayer in the same room or nothing. Sp tennis doesn't appeal to me at all.
We play either against each other in split screen mode which is not an issue when these days we have huge tv’s or even better we team up against the ai in doubles which means split screen is not required.

Yet to try doubles online, but I have done singles and it is a lot of fun.

By SP I meant single player. Split screen is fine, play Mario Kart quite often split screen. Yet to try 4 player though.
I understood what you meant. Hence why I explained my multiplayer experience in the same room.

As for mario kart, I believe the game drop from 60fps to 30fps when you go more than 2 players. It is very noticeable and the experience is not fun imo.

Looking for a fun, pick up and play game to buy digitally for my holiday. Was initially thinking like Stardew Valley but open to suggestions.

Any recommendations, happy to try something new.. just wanted to keep it at £20 max

Check out the indie list Kreeeee posted yesterday. Depends what you're after really but everything there is decent.

Edit. Day before yesterday.

Might find that off putting, do you know if the 2nd performs better?

I can't comment on the 2nd but I know some of the guys here will be able to help. The 2nd was designed for home consoles so is probably structured in a better way.

Don't get me wrong, the first seems fine enough but the origins of its 3ds nature are apparent (to me atleast) ;)

Some suggestions based on what I've played

Steam world dig 2 is fantastic if a little short, still worth it for a solid 8-10hours of well crafted shenanigans. A joy to play imo.

Sonic Mania is a brilliant return to form if you have love for 1-3 from the megadrive era.
