I've picked up Splatoon 2 and it seems great. However, to play online apparently I need to join a team, and I can't do that until I'm level 4. How do I level up if I can't play online?

    Edit: don't worry, sussed it

You can play the basic matches to level up, you just can't join ranked.

I would recommend the campaign if you are new also.

I don't think I've ever played any of the campaign :p

It's a bit of a pain online as the real game doesn't begin until you hit X rank, so you have to go through turf war and then all the basic ranks until you start to get into the meat of the game.

Before X-rank you can just play any random weapon on any level and use any combination of power ups without any thought.

I'm tempted to try it again now that I have a pro controller. I did enjoy my time with it at launch but drifted away too soon. (Would need to rebuy it)

I recognise this. Was this the one that got Kickstarter? I think Metal Jesus covered it on his YouTube channel

Yes, there was a similair one called skull something but this one just seemed 'better' from what I'd seen. I wish I'd had one from the start.

Cheapest way to get hold of BOTW? Maybe from a foreign eShop?

I only play with the split joycons. Motion aiming is weird with the pro pad as its like using a steering wheel to aim.

I like Classic mode, not a fan of the Spirit adventure at all, not too sure why!

    Great game though

I never considered trying that! For motion, which hand handles that? I assume right hand

I never even thought to try that, but I played Mario this way! I agree it feels like a steering wheel otherwise

Why did you buy both the pokemon games? Aren't they exactly the same except for the starting pokemon?

Got our switch on a spur of the moment purchase yesterday.

Loving it today, the 3 year old manages to play mario kart and some of the mini games on mario party. We then went on to play oddysey. Thought it would be fine if our 6 year old daughter was mario and 3 year old son was cappy. Unfortunately our son found the jump button and caused our daughter to die continuously, didn't go down well. I'd advise only kids 5+ play oddysey, even as the hat.

Obviously when the kids are in bed we play a bit, can't wait to complete oddysey with the Mrs.
