*** Nintendo Switch ***

It'll be a huge download digitally for NBA. Apparently even with the cart you need an SD card and there's still a big download to add to that. Luckily I am not interested in it.

Played about two hours of binding of Isaac now and I really don't get the appeal.

Time to sell it I think.

I got Isaac Rebirth on the Vita when it came out, as it was on PSN monthly fortunately.
Initially I just didn't get it at all, I couldn't see myself sitting down and playing it for more than 30 minutes or so, but it's a great 'pick up and play' title. Although with my lack of skill, it's pretty nails.

I already 'beat' it in the first two hours.

It seems massively luck based though. I got a Mario rip off jump power up that let me easily dodge any attack and stormed through the levels.

Turns out a NES virtual console game has been on our systems since day 1.

Nobody knows how to access it through non-modding means, but there was a post on some forum a few months back where someone claimed after waking up their Switch from sleep mode there was a "Golf minigame" on the screen. It wasn't taken seriously at the time but it appears there is indeed some hidden method to access GOLF.

I know you could argue that it's because it's not optimised for PS4 and Xbox or that my eyes are knackered due to age but does anyone else think the graphics from the Switch version of NBA hold up surprisingly well against the competition?

Based on what I've seen and read about the Switch version of NBA 2k18 it's quite solid outside of issues with story cut-scenes.

Compared to other versions, NBA 2k18 on Switch runs at half the frame rate(30fps) which makes it far less demanding on the system. The resolution is reduced, overall graphical quality is lower and cloth physics are not there, but because it is essentially the same game/engine it's very comparable; the quality of player models isn't compromised too much which is nice.
I think there's room for improvement still, but it certainly holds up well when you factor in the portability and spec of the system.

I think I'll end up going for the PC version regardless, considering I don't play in handheld on Switch that often and the frame-rate compromise, the cheaper option makes more sense for me.

Nearly finished the Octopart Traveller demo with Olberic.
This game kicks my ass. And to think I had a pop at it "another RPG" when I watched the DirectTV announcement.

Roll on 2018.

The music is just immense.

Does Mario and Rabbids get better? Im two hours in and bored silly. Love Xcom as well which is why Im a bit worried its just not going to click with me.

It's got a pretty drawn out intro, but I've been playing all weekend and really enjoying it. The varieties of enemies, abilities and environmental hazards keep on adding layers to the complexity.

Just beaten the second midboss. Loving the graphics, the cutesy style of the Rabbids fits well with Mario imo, just kinda works. Game is a lot harder than the cutesy look would have you believe at first :)

2 hours isn't really enough to get to the meat of it. The difficulty really ramps up after world 2 but you get used to it and plan a lot better. If you want to make the game a bit easier go back and do the challenges for the worlds you've completed. It'll make you a bit OP in some situations but it's fun to finally wreck everything that was smashing you down before. I've gone back and perfected the first 3 worlds but not world 3 challenges. I've put it aside because I am going on holiday next week so I want some of that when I'm away.

Playing it docked is great but when you see it on the TV it is incredible how vibrant the colours are. The score is perfection. The people who created this are clearly massive Nintendo fans. The little touches and nods and winks are beautifully done. Even the rabbids are cool and I thought I'd hate that part of it. I've grinned a lot and sometimes laughed out loud whilst playing this. I wish I could ditch Mario and play with just the rabbids. Rabbid Luigi is a beast when you unlock his abilities.

The main letdown for me is the 'over-world' exploring. The puzzles are a bit tiresome. It isn't bad as such I'm just not liking it that much. I love everything else about it though.
