*** Nintendo Switch ***

Played Skyrim a few years ago on the Xbox 360 bit only put about 30 hours in , really tempted by it on the switch, what's it like in comparison to Zelda? Put 70 hours into that and absolutely love it
My wife said it well when she said that it makes Zelda look like a childs game.

It's a much more complicated game with many more possibilities. They're both great, but Skyrim comfortably comes out on top. There are just so many organic memorable 'I can't believe that just happened' moments in it.

Ah think i might have to get it think I will wait to see the reviews for xenoblades first then go from there as both games I'm guessing will be serious time killers like Zelda was.. Also thinking about getting the xenoblades pro controller as I haven't picked one up yet but I have been playing mostly in handheld

The pro controller is almost necessary for Skyrim.

Zelda was brilliant for its change in standard, it is in a way a more simplistic open world game - a perfect introduction because while it left you 'to do as you wish' it was very easy to still have specific goals in mind and progress.
Skyrim (and Elder Scrolls in general) is open to the point you can easily get yourself lost in the game and almost blindly wondering around thinking 'what the hell was I supposed to be doing?' which is in many ways the ideal open world game to a lot of people.

Zelda was brilliant in its own way and of course is more puzzle focused, it is the perfect game to introduce people to the open world style of gameplay. For those more familiar with RPGs and open worlds, Skyrim will feel more fleshed out and of course is more loot and combat focused - which in itself makes a significant difference in gameplay and I can see why people could prefer Zelda over Skyrim. But as a more traditional open world RPG, well, there is a reason Bethesda have managed to get away with milking the same game for over 6 years

I remember trying Skyrim and just not enjoying it. Which is why I was surprised at enjoying Zelda due to the type of RPG it is. I think whilst they're comparable in the sense they're both RPGs, they each appeal to different kinds of players in their own way :)

I just managed to get hold of a switch for my son for Xmas. Well I say Xmas.....he will have it early January when my mother flys over here with it. They cost about 400 quid over here!!!!

He has a 3ds, but he is constantly looking over my shoulder when I play on mine.

Pokemon and minecraft for him will be the first order of the day.

I hated open world games before Zelda, which got me into the genre.

No Pokemon yet, sadly. But it's happening! A proper fully fledged 3d Pokemon game. Really looking forward to seeing what it is

I bought a Switch this morning in the Amazon lightning deal for £300 with Mario Odyssey and Rabbids (minus £20 for the balls up with my Xbox one X!) What else do I need besides Zelda and Mario Kart? I mean accessories wise, no other games really interest me for now.

Screen protector I seem to remember reading Orzly glass ones to be a good choice: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01N9RG3XS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A2PA6SVKIURG13&psc=1

In regards to a controller the pro controller seems quite expensive for what it is but I'm not really a fan of the Joycons for when its in docked mode. Are there any good cheaper alternatives are are non official ones a no no?

I guess I need a carry case and liked this Orzly one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01NAUKS62/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=A2PA6SVKIURG13&psc=1

Thoughts and suggestions welcome. :)
