Nissan GTR Owners and Lovers Thread

Hopefully this time next week I'll be at home with the car sat on the drive. Getting twitchy now :D Went to the DVLA this morning about getting my plate off retention and onto the car and they said I can put it on as of today, would've though I'd have to wait a couple of weeks like everything else that goes through them! Shame that the local offices are all closing, much easier than having to send forms off to Swansea for everything.

The new GTR in the old Blue, bayside blue was it called? Lovely!

Installed a Boost of the line map with my Cobb, made mental noises and did this:

Stats from Racelogic Performance Box

No Rollout (unlike the yanks using 1ft to get going :p )

0-60 3.23
0-100 6.78
50-70 1.31
62-124 6.45 (100-200kmh)
1/4 mile 11.14 124mph 2.03 60ft

Private farm road which was pretty dirty and damp so I just got wheelspin for the first 50-100ft or so and then ran out of space to do a full 60-130mph pull (had to brake at 128 damn it!).

On a prepped drag strip or even a good warm road I think I could get a lot better times.

Good start though :D

Is yours a 650R with DP's? Picked up mine yesterday but have to wait until Saturday for a decent drive :(

Very quick, not sure on the 1/4 though.

I can't remember but went to RAF one weekend few years back, me in Mustang and mate in his 2009 GTR with y-pipe but stock ECU. Can remember what his did, it was either high 10's or mid 11's. What do they tend to manage stock at drag strip?

I just remember that off the line the Mustang had no chance. For example 30-130mph the Mustang was 2 car lengths ahead, but off-line he left me, my quarter mile was like 12s and his a good deal quick and it was all due to how well the GTR gets off the mark.

Went out in friends Litchfield Stage 2 car this week, not as brutal as yours JP but a much more linear power delivery, wheras yours is brutal in mid-range in comparison.

What are the DP's like for day to day driving? Do they only make a noise above 3k? Car is due a G3 service in September so thinking of taking it to Litchfields for service, downpipes and possibly the warranty.

Well most 1/4 mile I think use 1ft rollout and I used 0 rollout and had lots of wheelspin as the road was bad.

I want to get down to santa pod this year to see what it will really do.

I think my results are good given how bad the launch was and like you say that is the strong point of the GTR.

Was only my first real try at timing and only got the one run before it started to rain.

I will try again on the same road but use 1ft rollout and see what it gets, should be 10s on the "street" I would think. Will wait for dry weather and really warm my tyres up first!

Stock 1/4 mile times at dragstrips vary so much depending on the track prep, have seen high 10s to mid 11s.

What are the DP's like for day to day driving? Do they only make a noise above 3k? Car is due a G3 service in September so thinking of taking it to Litchfields for service, downpipes and possibly the warranty.

DPs are fine on my car as I have the 102mm exhaust with the silent y-pipe, sure its loud up top but at cruise speeds I have no problem holding a conversation with passengers or on the phone.

Full bolt on mods is the way to go, make sure you get the latest mapping and Asnu injectors if it has stock or ID ones.

^JP^ I am lucky
My mate that used to have 500hp R33 that got nickered for parts. Got himself a GTR 3 weeks ago and took me for Ride.
I would classify it as best birthday present i ever gotten in my life :)

That is why i know NOTHING i been in comes close to GTR its just perfect in every way at lest for me :D

Thing is i love cars all of them Muscle Classics EUDM USDM and of course Japanese always number one for me. I spend more time working on my Integra than driving it. Cause i just love to look at it when its nice and clean standing in garage. I dont even need a car cause i run everywhere around Nottingham nowadays hehe.

Back in Poland 2001 Me and 3 of my mates started local Honda club. Made some flyers and stuck them behind wipers of any honda we came across on daily basics. My other mate worked as computer graphic designer made us website and stuff. I left Poland in 2005 but still got my club stuff around.

Best thing is that my mates hosted my Honda club season start this year. And over 300 hondas showed up. All it needed was 3 people with passion for cars to start something that grew big :)
In my homeown we got Airplane factory and they are building hand made Cobra replicas there to :)

Ahhhhh, so you're a Polak?

Polski DC2 brat :D

Nice one on the Honda club, loving the B&W photo.

Nissan just released some info on a limited colour run of 100 units worldwide, Midnight Opal with some dry carbon bits and "hyper-titanium coated" wheels.

Midnight Opal was a colour option for the Spec-V which was absurdly expensive, I think this will just be a small premium over the standard colours like Super Silver.

I really like it :)
