No Man's Sky - Procedural space game

Started a new game on the Permadeath mode... the game decided to put me on a freezing cold planet with a fair number of sentinels, so I had to contend with a frosted over screen while scrambling as quickly as possible to get enough resources to repair the starter ship & survive.
Enjoyed the challenge of that planet as I barely made it, mostly thanks to having to run to a shelter 800-900 away to get the Hermetic Seal and then run back looking for resources to refill my hazard protection on the way.

I found my 1st crashed ship last night, an A class hauler with 48 slots, it’s VERY damaged and is going to take a lot of work to fix, 1000+ Platinum and 2000 Chromatic metal, amongst other things. The planet I found it on is also the nicest looking planet I have seen yet, also, no sentinals at all.

I’m addicted to this game, I love how open and free it is, it’s a true sandbox game

Has anyone noticed that since the NEXT update there is either a lack of creatures marked as predators or they are more docile and less likely to randomly attack you without provocation as they did previously...?

I remember when running the Atlas Pass edition and landed on a planet there were these penguin like creatures which would have the hostile predator markings and would come up to me and start attacking.

At least there seemed to be a need for caution when initially exploring a planet, I've not needed to apply that now in terms of the creatures that I have met so far.

Crashed ships seem to be a rarity now, more so than before. I am yet to find one.

Found my first decent ship via a signal (might be part of the story?) I got told about coords, and everything needs repairing.. anyone wanna lend a hand? Could pay for your time in game.

I admit it might be because I am using a keyboard and mouse, or I am doing something wrong, but I have given up trying to do anything in space that involves shooting, the ship seems to take forever to respond and then when it does, it goes to far

Those larval core are fun to get, worth 95,000 each and the Apex predators that arrive are quite cool. Just in the process of recovering a load and have 33 on me lol

Had some artifatcs as well but none worth mega money thus far.
Got a few ancient artifacts but none worth mega money so far, most has been 700,000, still good though.

I'll be on NMS again on Wednesday evening if you need a minion to gather resources.

I use a controller for flight and kb/mouse on foot. Tried flying with kb and it was a nightmare!

Weird. I managed to get myself a free freighter by fighting off some pirates who were attacking them. Crewed by Gek. Warped it to a Korvax system, and all the crew were replaced by Korvax. Wut.

Its massively easier flying with mouse and keyboard once you get used to it. Aiming and dogfighting is also far easier on mouse and keyboard than a controller, a bunch more accurate, point shoot dead.

Having trouble marking and keeping track of stuff.

Say I spot buried technology, normally as soon as I jump in my ship, the marker completly disappears. I've just found a drop pod with an exosuit upgrade. I need to find cobalt, so I mark the drop pod by holding F and then holding E. But as soon as I leave the area, the marker disappears.

In another situation, I found some broken machinery that needed copper to fix. So I fly off and find some copper, but I had no way of finding the broken machinery again, didn't show up scanning on foot on in the air. Is there a way to leave beacons or markers behind?

Few things I have learned today, a lot of Gravity balls make you wanted by everything... totally worth it though.

Extreme sentinel planets are not worth the hassle

Its lonely in space.... except for views like this....
