Enjoying the game so much, it's gets in own coaster on the coffee table :)
I'm after some good NMS artwork, but having trouble finding something laser etching friendly like the gas monkey logo.
If anyone comes across a cool image, drop a link would you ;)

Really enjoying this game but reading all the comments of the cool things you guys are getting up to I feel like I'm miles away from getting there!
I'm still on my starter ship, not got a freighter yet, decided to delete my tutorial starter base so looking for a new home to set up and only just started the Anomaly mission where you have to meet aliens to get your rank up and then report back to Polo.
Still I am having a blast and only get a few hours in the evening to play so hope to get to all the fun stuff eventually.

One quick question I did find an abandoned ship which I claimed which gives me access to both ships, so if I repair the flight systems on the new ship and fly it to a space station to swap out will I still have my starter ship available back on the planet? Would hate to loose it in case anything goes wrong!

You should have it still yeah, can't say for certain as I found my second ship when I had a freighter so it teleported there instead.

I've got stuck with my base engineer quest line. He's expecting to me to bring back some data, but the quest is gone from my log book, and I don't know where/what I'm supposed to fetch.

Tried deleting the terminal and making a new one, but he just pops back in the same state....

Spent quite a long time on a planet not dissimilar to Hoth looking for a Superoxide Crystal... However on the way made 2 mil in salvaged Tech and a S class scanner module.

Really back into this game again...

Just bought this recently so only a couple of hours in and currently following the story line.

Enjoying it so far and can be such a looker! Any tips or anything for newbies?

Guys...you dont need to repair ships totally. When you find a big ship with loads of damaged modules, just repair what you need to take off and return to the space station. There you can then trade that excellent ship with loads of damaged inventory space but for top value for a shiny brand new ship WITH ALL ITS MODULES WORKING, no repairs needed and you've made a 20million pound ship with god knows how much grinding resources saved.

What we are saying is that we claim the crashed ship in order to salvage any bits regardless of how decent it is, and then go back to the ship we were already using. The trouble is, the original ship isn't there, it either disappears or you can't access it
I got that ship using the method described (trading up). I suspect there is a limit to how many ships you can own at once but no option to get rid of any of them.

Finally making some cash now I've gotten used to it by farming the larvae eggs at abandoned labs using the base building tip which I suspected might be possible.
And finally worked out the nanites upgrades as well, not many guides out there to do with NEXT at the moment. The S class scanner upgrade is well worth getting.

Ah I see, apologies.

And yes get the scanner modules on adjacent tiles and you'll earn 300k per animal scans at times.

6 ships at a time you can own. And if you're just salvaging damaged ship you're finding just disable the components you want in the transfer screen before you claim the ship. That way you keep your current as primary.

Enjoying the new planet generation. Have found some neat planets and some very extreme.

Desperate to have an S class freighter of every class and S class fighter. At the very least to get more jumps out of each warp cell.

Venturing off the path, its certainly random. No fauna at all and aggressive Sentients. Some weird structures too (like giant wheels, forgot to get a pic).

Question. Where do you get hazmat gloves from? Station vendors don't sell the blueprints.

In other news, I managed to fix the bug I had with the base computer waypoint being stuck in space. I had to build a new base computer and install it on a planet in the same system as the stuck waypoint. The game autosaved when I claimed the base, and the waypoint moved to the new base computer.

I think it's through either the weapons terminal quests or one of the other specialists, can't quite remember which one
