NR200 Owner's Thread

Pardon me if this has been asked on here before— does anyone know which standoffs for motherboards will allow for the 1mm clearance buffer that would fit the Fuma 2 with the TG panel?

Alternatively, it seems as if the b450i strix will allow the fuma 2 with TG — is the cpu seat for that mobo the same height as the b550i equivalent?

many thanks.
that's why i ordered rog strix b550i instead of gigabyte b550i aorus pro although it costs 50$ more where I live.
I hope the tg panel fits

I like your airflow idea, funny thing i was thinking about it earlier, so you flipped the fans to intake from the back and removed the top left fan maybe to not disturb the cooler fans airflow?!!
From my testing (I also have a Fuma 2 intaking air from the back) the case fans also affect the CPU temps, even if intaking from behind. I suspect the fan above the heatsink does help, not the opposite, I'll try to test this.

So my second NR200 is on the way. I have noticed a lot of people on this thread went for the NR200P. Personally, for my at home gaming rig, a window is just not something I care about. My build goal is a stock 3600 (or new 5xxx series chip) and a solid 1440P GPU running smooth and quiet. My current rig has a 280mm AIO in it and short of the fact the FSP Dagger Pro 550 gets loud (more below) during gaming, my system noise does not change during gaming or idle, practically silent.

As for the PSU noise, I guess it is all subjective. My wife was in my office last night while I was gaming and I comment on how loud the PSU was and she started laughing at me. She can barely hear it. She thought it was funny because she can yell at me from the next room and I will say I cannot hear her and yet the PSU is barely above a whispered voice and I think it is loud :-)

For this new build I am leaning air cooling. Looking at a C14S with a 120mm on the bottom of the C14S and the 140 on the case side rail. I like the fact that it is giving direct air flow to the motherboard. I am debating adding a second 140mm on the side for additional positive air flow. For this build I am gonna use a Corsair SF 600 though I am also looking at a Silverstone SX-700PT. With the second 140 intake I am considering turning the PSU around to see if that helps with noise as right now the right side of the case on the current build is facing me. (Wonder if that is why I hear the noise, if I turn it around it might help a lot.)

I see in specs that cooler clearance is 155 mm but still fits 158/159 mm Hyper 212 Evo even with glass panel. Does that mean it could fit other similarly tall coolers? I want to make color matching build in white and found this cooler with optional colored top plates that's 158 mm tall . Could probably get 1-2mm less height swapping fan to white arctic p12 too based on photos. Maybe even push pull too. Waiting for reply from SilentiumPC about cooler height without fan.

Anything over 155mm/153mm is down to manufacturing tolerances and luck. CM were able to say that their cooler fits as they know the tolerances on both the case and the cooler. There's no certainty with coolers from other manufacturers, e.g. Fuma 2 fits for some people and not for others.

I highly doubt the Hyper 212 Evo would fit with the glass side panel. The Noctua U12S is 158mm and I am unaware of any builds fitting it with the glass.

The Mugen 5 is 154.5mm tall, and only just fits. Looking at my case, the max you can push it really is 155mm for the glass. Using the vented panel adds 3mm, allowing the Noctua U12S to fit.

it's so confusing although it's 158mm yet it fits
I feel these cooler use their own measurements system where 158mm is shorter than 155mm :D

waiting for the mb, hopefully this works

im personally ordering the Strix b550 F variant. Just waiting on my SF750 which I ordered yesterday from Corsair directly. Will report with my findings when that is..

What are ppl replacing their top fans if they have an asus mobo and cooling with fuma 2?

personally I will go either for arctic f12 or noiseblocker nb-eloop b12-ps or scythe kaze flex whatever is available
when it comes to changing the fuma fans I have done a lot of researching about it, if you wanna oc adding a third fan will improve the performance a lot. Scythe counter rotation thing does improve the performance according to 2 tech youtubers.

Just tested with the fan above the Fuma 2 on/off while stressing both CPU and GPU and it does indeed help both of them. Stopped the test when both CPU and GPU temps reached +3ºC compared to the fan turned on.

Also, just for testing's sake I tried to install the TG panel and it does fit perfectly in my case with the Fuma 2 and MSI b450i, none of the heatsinks touched the TG.
Also tested temps, CPU (OC'd 3600, 4325Hz/1.2375V) temps went from 84.5ºC with the mesh panel to 90ºC with the TG panel, GPU (RX580, fans fixed at 75%) went from 76ºC to 80ºC.

Surely that side fan achieves absolutely nothing with the tempered glass window?
Yeah, nothing at all. I'm using the vented panel in my build, just put the TG panel on to see if it fits and test the temps (had no availability of the NR200 so had to buy the NR200P), didn't feel like removing the side bracket just for that.

Aha, fair enough! :)

The wife yelling situation had me rollin'...so accurate.

Also I opted for the NR200P for the option of using the TG but also because it was only $20usd difference. For $20 I feel the optional TG, the 120mm fan (vs 92mm with NR200) and the riser cable were worth it to me since I'd have to get another 120mm fan anyways. Heres hoping my (2) CM fans are decent and don't need replacing....otherwise...that screws up my logic.

@Mmedrano I'm sure your temps with TG would be better if you had some intake fans at the bottom. Good to have another Fuma 2 data point though so thanks for that =)

For those who are still on Intel and wondering if the Be Quiet dark rock TF fits, it doesn’t. Well, it did fit in one orientation only but I had to remove the m.2 heatsink on my motherboard (gigabyte z490i aorus ultra) . Also, the fact that you need to tighten the screws from the back is a complete pain in the neck!!

The good news are that I just received a Scythe fuma 2, confirming that it does fit with the vented side panel on.

I was also able to install a case fan just above, with 2/3mm between the fan clip and the fan grill.

And, unlike others have reported, there’s no CPU cooler sagging.

Here are some photos of the “under construction” build, where you will also see a photo of the base plate of the fuma 2 I received. Are those scratches normal/acceptable? Will these affect the cooling performance?
