NR200 Owner's Thread

The option to set the CPU fans as intake and all other fans to exhaust was a nice temperature drop aswell, i know the vids from Machines and More but cant agree to all his measurements, for me 4.2GHz all core @1.2V is much better for my personal needs and temps. In idle my system is inaudible, with load you can hear it barely as you can see on my max temps + fan speeds.

In my opinion its not worth to add a third fan to the CPU because of the top fan exhausting enough air out

I tested the TG panel again and it seems that rotating the Fuma adds a little bit of space that the panel closes but its not aligned perfect and pushes against the Fuma

I also swapped from a Core V1 to the NR200, welcome to the club! ;)
As for the HDDs, you can fit one of them on the PSU bracket if you don't want it to be on the side bracket. I had one that I use for backup mounted there, it's not connected because I couldn't bear the noise (and, actually, as it's only for backups it's better if it doesn't stay connected) but I'll manually plug it from time to time just to do a backup. I can easily recover it from the top, plug it to the cables at the front and then put it back in its place thanks to the tooless fixing mechanism:

Nice! Yeah the Core v1 is an awesome case for $50 and it's getting passed down to my son to replace his Elite 120.

I know I can put a 3.5" drive on the PSU bracket...I just don't want to make the inside look messy with that GIANT 3.5" drive hanging out on the side there haha. I'll likely run them on my external dual bay USB HDD caddy until I get the NAS situation figured out.

@B34tnU Thanks for the updated temp comparisons with intake vs exhaust as well as a fan comparison. I think at minimum I need to pick up (2) new fans to replace my Cryorig fans...for purely aesthetic reasons. I don't like how the fan blades are white...lol. Going for that stealth look.

This is my first build with Noctua on Top and Fuma with stock Fans before i swapped them.
As you see the Temps are much higher before i swapped the Fuma and Noctua Fans and also less noise.
To fit the Noctua i had to rotate the Fuma 180 degrees

I see, maybe that review got wrong results or those were different in their use case. Might also be because our specific setup, as the extra width of the Noctua fan makes it intake more air from outside the case and less warm air from below coming from the GPU (I actually tested yesterdat if placing some kind of barrier between the GPU and the bottom part of the Fuma 2 improves CPU thermals by preventing it recirculating hot air from the GPU. I'll do proper testing and post detailed results when I have my definitive build but, spoiler, it does help CPU thermals a bit but slightly worsen GPU thermals... Which can then be prevented by placing a duct around the GPU so it only intakes fresh air from the bottom ;)).

The idea with the barrier to seperate the CPU cooler from the rest of the setup is one of my ideas for the next days aswell but now i can wait until you post your results :p

To GPU, the temps are in my case much better when fans are exhausting. But i have to be fair and have to say i locked my GPU to 0.925V and 1900MHz

I hope I can get the new GPU soon enough! It's backordered and supposed to arrive yesterday, but I contacted the store and was told that they couldn't provide a real estimated date, they're sending the 3080/3090s to backorders as soon as they receive them, whiich I guuess it's not a high rate by any means... :(

@Ikazuchi Please keep in mind that @Darren_uk has flipped his case upside down. So he's using the bottom mounting on the case for the radiator. He has custom feet in use and a custom side panel. You wont have it looking like this with the default case.

This was my last case project/Mod, no more case builds, retirement now on.:)

The Surge 2 & Genshin Impact Playing now
if you like the Zelda breath of the wild game

Any game be fine with this build using the Arctic 240mm
& GPU well-vented side panel, all 4 case fans are exhaust,

if I had both bottom fans as intake it just would make more heat rise though
the top Rad.

Got my eye on an Nvidia 3070 Card, but not fussed as I only play in 1920 x 1080p

Sony PS5 my first port of call, to play Demon souls so forth
& use the Blu ray player.

Interesting... might have to give this a try. I have the mugen 5 on exhaust and the max I’ve seen my cpu temp is 65.

People really need to get the heat rises out their head when dealing with pc cases. Unless you have zero fans.

As soon as you have any forced convection that heat rises goes out the window for low temperatures inside a pc case. (maybe not 500 degrees celcious)

400rpm fans pointing down will move just as much air as 400rpm fans pointing up.

Set the case up for best fan direction up down left right it doesn't matter. Just what ever direction works best.

Standard layout intake bottom exhaust top works best because air cooled gpus. Flip the case upside down. Intake top and exhaust bottom will work best. Water cool the gpu and it wouldn't matter much either way

So I went from an NCase to this....

Build is still not complete. I want to get some rgb fans on top and maybe on heatsink. Don't want to over do it with the rgbs, I want it to be tastefully done.
Also I have no rgb headers.

Spec:
9600k @ 4.9GHz
Mugen 5 rgb with 2 arctic p12
Kaze flex rgb and p12 on top
Evga 1080ti sc2
2 Noctua a12x25 - will replace will chromax versions when they're out.

Cpu maxes out at 65c and gpu 70c.

Do you have gigabyte b550i aorus by any chance? I am planning similar build as you, but I'm not sure if the aorus b550i allows two 25mm fans at the top when using Scythe Mugen 5 rev b because of the unusual cpu socket placement.

I have a intel board. But from I read you’ll be better off with the asus or asrock as they have a lower cpu placement.

It’s the route I’m going down for zen3

So my Corsair SF750 came in yesterday. Guts transfer completed yesterday.

First time I've held a SFX PSU in hand...and I gotta say...this is one tiny power unit.

Case was easy to work with. Only pain was my Mobo fan headers were tucked almost under the H7 Cooler so it was a pain to install the (2) top exhaust fans.

Specs:
Intel i5-6600K @ 4.1ghz
Corsair 16gb DDR4 ram 3000
Nvidia 1080gtx Founders edition
250gb Samsung SSD (OS and other programs)
500gb Samsung m.2 (games)
Corsair SF750
Cryorig H7 w/ (1) 120 Fan
(2) 120mm Coolermaster Fans as exhaust

Plans:
Zen 3 CPU upgrade
Zen 3 mobo
32gb ddr4 3600
Asus 3080 TUF
2nd m.2 drive to maybe get rid of SATA...but probably not.
Synology DS220+ NAS drive for media since my (2) 3.5" HDDs are currently in an external dock

Came from a ThermalTake Corev1 case. Awesome case for $50 and ATX compatibility. Just wanted to change it up and go even smaller if I could. Hence the NR200P being a great choice.

7gvpdQK.jpg fraIEpR.jpg

I mean look how the SFX is basically HALF the length of my EVGA ATX PSU. And both are 750w!
Granted the SFX is fully modular and 80+ platinum, vs the semi-modular and 80+ bronze of the ATX.

4MVrmCe.jpg

Cables tucked away nicely. Still debating on what fans to go with for the bottom. I may just order a (5) pack of Arctic P12s, (2) for the bottom, (2) for the H7 cooler...though with me wanting a 3080 TUF...the 25mm fans won't fit there so maybe I'll wait and just see how this performs as it is currently configured.

I did end up using the provided velcro straps, which were 'ok' to use.

Overall happy. Will update with desk before/after pics after I clean it up some haha.

Current web browsing/idle-ish temps with TG panel are 43°c for CPU and 42°c for the GPU.

Played Serious Sam 4 for about 30 minutes at high/1440p. CPU got to 65°c and GPU to 75°c
Its a blower style card so it runs hot to begin with. This is with a mild undervolt as well. Maybe an intake fan under the blower fan will help. But honestly seems like par for the course with my setup. These temps are similar to my Core v1 temps.

To save you looking, yes the Mugen 5 fits with the Gigabyte b550i and I have two 25mm fans at the top. However, you do need to bend the fan clip a bit, otherwise it will protrude into the top fan blades.

Part way through my build now. I have opted for the Sycthe Mugen 5 RevB cooler as I wanted to use the glass side panel. Happy to say it fits perfectly with about 1-2mm gap between the heat pipes and the glass.

Cable management has gone well so far thanks to the wife's smaller hands. We did find it hard to bend the cables without exerting too much pressure on the MB connections. I am also planning to swap the 2 PCI cables to the GPU with ones that only have a single connector. This will make it look much tidier when my RTX 3080 eventually dispatches.

Rest of the build is on hold until I have the new cables as well as some fans. I will use my 1070 as a temporary solution until the 3080 arrrives.

Thanks, lucky me there's 1 left in stock on OCUK! Do you think there's enough space for a slim fan (or better a full size one) on the mugen 5 facing the back of the case?

Desk before. Had my Prusa mini on the back left behind the work laptop.

Current setup. Move the 3d printer to another area in the room after I rewired my coax to get my mode/router in my office instead of the living room so I could have the desktop be hardwired instead of over wifi.

Similar footprint. NR200 is a little narrower, but it is a hair taller/deeper. Regardless still happy with it.

A 25mm fan on the back should just fit, but will be very tight. I saw a post on Reddit however that the extra fan only improves temps by 1-2 degrees while adding a bit of noise, so I am not sure it is worth it. I can definitely feel the heat coming from the top fan above the motherboard. The other top fan is mostly blowing cold air. When I have a 3080 I am assuming there will be more heat reaching the 2nd top fan.
