Nude Pictures taken on Mount Kinabalu

Apparently she has been given a 3 day prison (probably none due to time served) sentence and a fine.

Why this has been headline news for the last few days I do not know. Fully expect tomorrows news headlines to include "unstable man fined for flashing on trains"

It's a headline because someone senior in the Government also blamed their act for causing the Earthquake sometime after.

Or naked men banned from posting on forum... :p

These people should face whatever punishment is permitted under the law of the country they were in at the time.

In any country, their behaviour would have been considered disgusting in the extreme - particularly given the sacred nature of the site. They were told that the area was sacred and told not to take their clothes off - and they did it anyway.

Throw the book at them. It will be a good way-up call.

Indeed, can you imagine if a foreigner stripped off and took a whizz in St Pauls Cathedral!!

It's just retarded and disrespectful behavior.

That's not what its about, they saying she caused an earthquake because she showed her breasts to a mountain.

3 days in jail, didn't the guy who disrespected the war memorial here get longer?

Seems pretty lenient to me.

They also pee'd on it. So it's ok if a foreigner comes and urinates over our customs? Show some respect, its not like they weren't warned.

Well that's obviously tosh but "when in Rome" and all that, you have to respect local laws/customs if you're don't want to "come a cropper" ;)

I'm sure there are many "local" customs that if disregarded could mean a local would be on the tail end of a "punishment", are you saying that people from the UK should be exempt?

Whether you agree with the local "voodoo" or not it was pretty obviously a very stupid thing to do, I can't see how it can be defended, I'm not sure even the people that did it are defending their actions (they just got caught).

Glad she got jailtime. Infantile behaviour seems to be the norm for young kids these days. Hopefully this will be a jolt for some of her ilk to wise up and stop thinking they can ignore customs and traditions because it doesn't suit them

She should get what she deserve.
Why is it that when some Brits go abroad they do not respect the local cultures they think the world revolves around them. Its always the so called middle/upper class spoiled brats. This is why we are one of the most hated countries in the world.

When in Rome.....................

Are you sure, d_brennan? Are you sure it wasn't all evil and grainy and black and white? Think about it.
