Nurse arrested for murdering babies

Did @Dialup ever give us those articles of the media 'going after' her friends and family or did he just slink away?

I was going to ask him last night but deleted it.
I actually trawled through the Daily Mail for what he was claiming and only saw a 'friend' who said before the trial that she didn't believe Lucy had done it.
No idea what she thinks now but her Mum won't get much sympathy if she keeps claiming she didn't do it.

What actual evidence was there against her, apart from she was on the work rota at the time and a few ambiguous notes at her house?

For me the insulin results in the toxicology report, basically one of the babies had been poisoned - was the evidence that convinced the police that a crime had been committed.

So aside from her being the only one who was in a positon to have killed/attempted to kill the babies in question, the written confession notes and people walking in on her literally watching a baby die you're wondering "what actual evidence was there against her"?

How did they link this to letby?

The insulin result wasn't a reason to link it to her in and of itself, it was one of the reasons why the deaths were clearly murders not just random deaths... something that was apparent to the consultants already as they're well aware that otherwise healthy babies don't just drop dead regularly as they'd been doing in that department but I guess to lay people (the management were dismissive of the consultants) something like the insulin result makes it easier to understand why they were raising the alarm over these deaths.

This is what annoys me. It was not a systematic failure. It was the failure of individuals to act and they should be held culpable so that others are not further impacted.
It'll be the taxpayer ending up paying compensation while the managers will go on to six figure salaries somewhere else

She was mouthing "I love you" to her daughter as she was being led away after conviction. This kind of denial of reality whilst understandable in a parent also hints at a reason for her daughter being equally detached from reality

Don't forget a doctor also walked in on her watching a baby's oxygen levels drop to dangerous level and stood there doing nothing to stop it.

There is likely even more evidence we don't fully know about as we were not sat on that jury, it was clearly enough for them to find her guilty.

I can’t believe people are questioning the evidence here. Babies in neonatal units die very rarely. All of a sudden they start collapsing and dying only when one specific nurse is on shift. Said nurse undertook training which she then used contemporaneously to poison babies. They were not sophisticated crimes which is why it raised alarm bells long before the police got involved. If you read how the police investigated it multiple detectives came to the same conclusion independently and a court then found the evidence was compelling enough to convict her.

I know people on the internet like being contrarian but this is pretty egregious.

People question in order to better understand. IAM not sure I want to go through life not questioning anything and blindly taking other people's options as the gospel truth.

The problem im noticing with the internet these days and it's gotten worse over years is, everything is one giant big conspiracy apparently.

Not to say some things aren't.... there are reasonable examples like society trying force cashless to exert more control over people. Sure, you can have a debate about that.

Especially when they say they need to see the evidence, I've pointed out twice that you will need the same amount of hours and the same Experts that the jury call to make that call.

Why don't you start one?
Personally I think it's rubbish, it's how businesses evolve but I can take you to two venues now that will only accept cash which is a pain in the bum for me.

You are part of the problem
Nah there is absolutely room for a discussion around that.

But where there isn't as much room is what happened here where a court + loads of people from consultants to detectives were involved and a mountain of evidence pointing to the fact she did murder those babies.

There is a pretty rare chance she's going to be innocent on this one....

No doubt there will be protocol in place to prevent future incidents to happen, more red tape and more paper work. "Shipman" was another name which I am sure "Letby" will be too in the text book of health professional

The problem is you’re not always questioning opinions, but facts. The “question everything!!” mindset leads to a dangerous place where we are post-truth.
