Nursery Worker admits sex abuse

The only punishment they should receive is to be tied to a chair in a room with the mothers and fathers of these poor children.

Prison is hardly a punishment. Its a pushover.

TBH I am not going to go into my thoughts much about this type of thing or the people involved as its been said before and I agree with them - vile, sick, incomprehensible....

My post is about the major point of finding out what kids were involved and I am in 2 minds about it....

I can appreciate the parents wanting to know even if that means they find out their kids WERE abused as the "not knowing" can be worse but do the kids ever need to find out about it ?? Again that can go both ways -

If its true and they wont ever remember it then why bring such a horrible subject up and potentially taking a well rounded individual and have their world turned upside down where, if they never found out and never remembered, they would never go through the emotional/mental hurt and confusion to match the physical ??

But what if they DO remember snapshots of it and feel confused etc to the point where it DOES affect them and they might feel they have no one to talk to about it ??

As I said before, I am on the fence on this one. Everyone thinks its abhorrent that she may never tell and so the families may never know, but let me ask this - Which is worse ?? Is there a definitive answer ??

I aint so sure there is....

This is exactly what I disagree with. Our justice system should not be based on revenge.

One thing I noticed listening to the radio yesterday, is that there seems to be a bit of shock that a woman was involved? Its really irritated me hearing the surprise to some that a female could be involved in such things..

Well although it didn't really shock me, because it's obvious it does happen, I can see why people are shocked by it. By nature women are supposed to raise, care for and protect children, it's the maternal instinct. People see a female child abuser as going against nature I suppose...

(I could've explained that waaay better, but you get the idea)

According to studies, 20% of cases are committed by Women (report stated by various media) but they also warn that this kind is also well under-reported by victims as they (mostly male victims) feel they wont be taken seriously or will be laughed at etc.... Bit like male rape and Domestic Abuse I guess...

If ppl want the source I can get it but its based on a study of calls received by a UK child helpline (not choldline) and was reported on BBC and various newspaper sites....

all crimes are forgiveable imo, this crime is only forgiveable by death for a lot of people, hate to think what the parents of the victims think

I genuinely cannot envisage how you sexually abuse a toddler. A good thing I suppose.

exactly and these 3 people should be shot, they are really not right its beyond even extreme sexual perversion deviant stuff, how can it be .. i give up its just wrong.

We can't go back in time and stop it happening. We can examine what happened, to see if anything can be done in future to prevent it - I don't think there can be, but that may not stop the Government using it as an excuse to impose more laws.

The criminals will be sentenced for a very long time - not long enough in my opinion, since I can't envisage them ever being safe to live in society.

What good would revenge do?

In your opinion.

I disagree. There are plenty of crimes which are unforgivable in my opinion. Not understanding forgiveness has nothing to do with this. Some crimes are too serious and you need to grasp that.

All crimes are forgivable. Whether you have the capacity to forgive is your problem.

As bad as it sounds the toddlers won't grow up with a twitch in their eye for the rest of their lives because they won't remember what happened,

Mrs Poole often has to go to meetings & courts regarding such cases.
She says that you'll be very surprised what toddlers remember.

What absolute rubbish. Why the hell would you forgive someone who had done this? Are you saying once they're out of prison you'd invite them around to your house for a cuppa?

Forgiving someone and being mates with them are two different things. It is supposed to be Christian to forgive isn't it?

You're wrong. Believe that if you want though.

How is he wrong? He didn't say everyone will find this crime forgivable, merely that it isn't unforgivable per se - nothing is. Not while there is one person out there who can find the capacity to forgive.

Christ I sound like a bible basher ;)
