Nvidia 30X0 series waterblocks

2) If you are air-cooling everything, the Founders Edition chucks a good proportion of that 320-370W GPU heat upwards into your CPU air cooler. Not ideal. I'd rather get that hot air directly out of my case.

I've seen 2 videos that have tested it and they both say the FE adds at most 2 less degrees to the case than a 2080ti. And the air coming from the fan ejecting into the case feels just 'warmish'.

I'm not even sure that I am going to bite. I mean... I already have a 2080 Ti and I am waiting for an HP Reverb G2 to arrive (latest 4K VR setup). I might accept that I will miss the first allocation, use Turing and then see from my personal performance and feedback from people on the DCS forum (my main application) and then choose an Ampere for Christmas or Big Navi. The idea of a less power hungry Big Navi with 3080-ish performance and more GDDR memory for potentially a bit less cash... hmm.
I would wait but i have no gpu at the moment so i need this since selling my 2080 for good money, i couldn't resist haha. I see where you're coming from though, since you have a 2080ti anyway it is in no way a slow card. It's still a beast and will be for a while yet even if new cards come out and supersede it. Big Navi is interesting but i wish they made their launches more in line with Nvidias, giving people a choice earlier on in the game.

Steve’s tear down was useful, good luck tomorrow all, please if you’re thinking of buying an extra one to sell on for profit, please don’t, it’s an ******* move.

:D Not gonna sleep tonight, too excited haha. Excitement is dangerous, it might lead to major disappointment :p

Edit: careful when you pull that LED cable ;)

I am in exactly the same boat as you.

Currently building an entire PC around DCS and the Reverb G2 so I can't wait to see what the performance is like.

Waiting on Zen 3 Release as well!

Anyone else have a weird feeling about today? This whole launch just seems odd...

In what way? rushed, disorganised, premature.

I do have spare cash and would prefer to replace my 2080 TI which has mosfet buzz when under load (second hand and only discovered after keeping it in a box for 2 months) but I don't think it's worth the hassle at the moment. I'm going to sit this out and look for options in February - although a FE block that had the cut out and inlets on the top (not within the cut out) would probably change my mind.

Just the whole no preorder thing for a start, traditionally most if not all launches allow for pre-orders to relieve some traffic on actual launch. You can see it before it happens this time, its gonna crash and you're gonna be left with a lot of annoyed people. The FE card is defo the one to get this time round for me but im not stressing over it.

FE definitely has higher TDP and perf at 370W then?

Those ribbon cables look fragile AF.

I might try to get an EVGA anyway, not use it see if blocks are announced and return it within two weeks if nothing heard...

Seems that way unless you get the evga ftw3 edition which comes with 3x8pin connectors. Ribbon cables has apple written all over it, one wrong move and bam its not gonna work again... Tweezers and no shaky hands for this disassembly :p

You are better off watching the Igor's lab one to that GN breakdown. More succinct and more professional. Heck, he even tells you specifically all the tools you will need before starting.

Unless you like to watch people using power tools and superglue on brand new GPUs that is.

So i've barely managed to order an Inno3D X2, but the pre order date is showing as 31st oct.
Was tempted by the gigabyte or msi at 650, but couldn't guarantee we will get a block to fit.
What did the rest of you do??
