Nvidia 30X0 series waterblocks

lol if the card wanst so expensive i would but if anything goes wrong i dont have another use to to recover the 3090, thats the problem :(
Yeah, it's probably not worth risking it then.

Supprised that these cards are so heavily locked down though as it's not much to ask for to have a 10~15% power limit slider then paying so much for a Gpu and even the basic models VRMs are good for 500W.

yeah especially on the top cards, i think it'll be fine after i install the ek block, if i can drop temps enough the average clocks will be a lot higher at stock and tbh the card has a bit left in the tank just not as much as other aib's, dont mind though as stock its a 4k monster in games :)

i've sucsesfully flashed my zotac card with a asus strix rtx 3090 oc bios my power target is now +23% more and my base and boost clocks are more 1410 vs 1395 base and 1875 vs 1710 boost :)
now i need my waterblock becuase i dont know how well the aircooler will cope with the new clocks under load

I'd do a few benchmarks and make sure it's pulling the correct power as I've heard that when flashing a 3 pin to a 2 pin the card tries to draw the power evenly from 3 pins but since there is only 2 it actually ends up pulling less.

Congratz mate! That's damn handy to know it works, you got a link to the bios you used? I might give it a try lol, you're brave to have done it!

I took the plunge last night and ordered the corsair XR7 and some other bits to go with the gpu cooling.

Just read the post on Reddit, is it really a placebo affect with the 3x8pin to 2x8pin connectors? If it is i won't bother...

yeah i spoke too soon, i mean the card boosted up to 2115mhz no problem but i was getting wild core spikes which lead to be loosing around 1000 points, my zotac card pulled well over 450w when i enabled the 123% power limit and was reporting power from a no existant 3rd 8 pin pcie cable, safe to say i loded the zotac bios back on and alls well, might give gigabytes bios a go as that card shares the same pcb layout but offers a more modest 10% power target, what do you guys think?

damm that rads a tick boi sure it'll fit with the gpu horizontal?, i run a 45mm thick and its close

Only one way to find out really, i'll let you be the guinea pig lol.

It should do, i did some measuring last night and it just about makes it under without touching. Worse case scenario i'll run the tubes ontop instead of below which will give me more clearance.

Expecting deliver tomorrow along with more fittings and some much needed kryonaut paste! My last stuff dried up and went all elastic.

Are you using Nvflash to update the bios? The Eagle OC seems to be the only other bios available to do it, at 380w you should see quite an improvement.

yeah version 5.660 the latest one, i only mentined the gigabyte one as that uses the same pcb layout and uses 2 8pin pice plugs and has a more modest +10% power target which should equil as you say around 380w?, also the boost clocks arn't that diffrent 1710 vs 1725mhz

Worth a shot, that +10% will definitely help provided you can keep temps under control. Especially under water it should keep it cool enough to run the higher power draw.

i'll have a crack at it when my block arrives, no point now as the air cooler really struggles when the card gets into top gear :(, i have the gigabyte bios ready so when the time comes i'm all set :)

Might give it a bash tonight but really worried i'll bork the card

whilst were on the waterblock thread alphacool has a new block out for servers but can be used in the personal space too

https://videocardz.com/press-releas...-geforce-rtx-3090-and-rtx-3080-graphics-cards
I don't know what to make of that if im honest... Abit of plexi in the middle would have made it a lot more aesthetically pleasing to the general public but i see its for servers so no ones ever gonna see it i guess.

Does have that Mechanical feel about it though, im more interested in the end ports, it would make runs so much easier...

Damn it stop releasing blocks! I wanna keep my alphacool one but everything makes me want to drop it lol

thats what caught my eye, looks very similar to the ek FE upcoming block with the fitting on the end of the card vs the top, could get very clean runs of your tubes :)
Shame there aren't interchangeable covers so you could have a plexi section instead of the full Acetal... Maybe they could make i an option. Would be really interesting though, might get one for ***** and giggles lol
