Nvidia 30X0 series waterblocks

I am in a similar position with my 3090 FE. I don't want to fit it without a water block because that would mean draining the loop to fit it when it eventually arrives. I am also waiting on 5950x to be available. (First time build so I have no other GPU or CPU).

Better looking at it (3090 FE) than looking for it however!
Haha yes, you're right there. It is a thing of beauty :) kinda don't want to put a block on for that reason.

Just gonna throw it out there, who's gonna sell or cancel their 3090 for a 6900xt? :p i mean £500 ish in savings could buy some decent hardware.

Will get you this new 5900X to pair it together :D

If they worked with EK, like they say, ppl who get radeon will still probably watercool it quicker than us with FE:rolleyes:

Lets put this into perspective:

Sell RTX 3090 with waterblock - £1650?

Buy 6900xt - £950
Buy 5900x - £530
Buy compatible board - £200
Total £1680 ish

Tempting right? Lets see what proper reviews say first though.

Not to mention i can sell my board and cpu for a few bob as well.

I may :p

Literally got the 3090 FE on order for delivery tomorrow apparently (STRIX was AWOL), but with that said keeping it has dependency on EK block as I have 2 slot ITX case. If EK block reduces size down then will keep it, if not then back it goes! Hopefully EK do show there hand within next few days though! should have been end of month for EK block :(

It's taking way way too long for EK to drop a block for the FE cards, i do wonder why its taking so long tbh... Maybe they're doing some trickery to cool the backplate as well.

i got an email from EK today apologizing for the delay and offering a 10% discount on my next purchase and a guarantee it would be shipping on 20th of Nov (Strix WB) valid until April 2021

That's because Strix was meant to be ready by mid-October and has been pushed back until end of November (probably following LTT review that pointed out a few terrible shortcomings in design).

FE has had nothing since start September apart from a few comments on socials saying 'end of October'.

I gotta say, missing those two huge components was a bit of a ridiculous oversight on EK's part

Just got a new reply from EK saying those who pre-ordered the Strix WB will be shipped next week, those on the 24th Sept will be shipped on the 13th Nov and those after will be shipped at the end of November

Unlikely, I'd rather just scrounge together another £500 and then buy other stuff

Now I wish I'd just gone ahead and ordered one. It's the one thing holding me back from transplanting my PC into a new case with a new loop

I pondered over night and decided nah no point lol. However i've cancelled my 3080 pre order and gonna put that towards the new ryzen 9 5900x with a new board as well. Should see some nice gains from that instead.

I've already prepared my shopping cart for Zen3
Ordered a monoblock for my board and the processor directly from EK because no stock here. Assuming Hitachi will let me apply for a second loan when I haven't paid off my current one I'll probably just go ahead and order the 5950x and most of a full new build. Still can't believe how much that O11D XL distro plate costs but I have my heart set on it. Those daisy chain Lian-Li fans I want may be an issue. Nowhere has stock

unless there are stock delays / mass ordering and queue system of the 5950x, the EK water block will be the only thing holding me back from switching cases too

I am in a similar position - everything either partially built or in a box on my shelf waiting on 5950x and 3090 FE block. I have even test fitted the monoblock, measured and bent the tubes and dissembled it all again. The extra time (and boredom) did give me the opportunity to go crazy with cable management though! 10 EK Vardar d-rgb fans creates a lot of spaghetti to organise - but at least they can be daisy chained. I tested the fans the other night to check they all worked, geez 10 of them running full tilt fairly cooled my room down fast! Hopefully they will never run that hard when their RPM is being managed.
