Nvidia 30X0 series waterblocks

Heat killer series V 3080 waterblock update on 22/12.

They're passing on German VAT cut to customers.

Intrigued what price FTW3 blocks come in at and to switch up from my usual EK approach.

Came in at just under £200 for mine inc the backplate.

The EK 3090 FE block is delayed. There is supposed to be an update at the time of their expo Jan 11th - 14th.

Gutted, had my card since end of September, been strung along with, coming soon, November, you should have your card before the holidays. This is now starting to feel like a late Jan preorder, for delivery mid Feb.

I had a passing thought, that perhaps EK were altering the backplate design to increase cooling, hence the delay. But I feel like even voicing that thought is enough to destroy any possibility of it being the reason.
I could imagine them doing this because the cheaper Aquacomputer block offers active backplate cooling and EK want to at least seem competitive/justify the price premium.

I highly doubt it, if they weren't bothered about the 3080 i doubt they will with the 3090. I asked them about it on twitter/facebook and they replied the ribbed backplate is more than sufficient to keep the back of the cards cool.

I have the silver block coming for my FE. I bought myself a LINKUP Gen4 PCIE Riser though so hopefully I'll be ok.
I have a linkup 4.0. It gives me over twice the bandwidth over the phanteks premium cable I had on 3D mark pcie test. It works perfectly fine with my x570 board. Not sure if it offers any gaming performance as I changed my cpu at the same time.

Seems expensive for minimal performance gain over a v3 riser, not sure if there are extra more expensive components, but if not I’ll wait until China’s churning them out by the boat load and pick one up cheaper in a few years.

Anyone with kfa2 sg 3090,what waterblock are you using? I ordered the ekwb quantum vector 3090 which is listed as supported, but don't fit as fan header is too large for cutout on block.

I'm using an Alphacool block, works really well. Max temp I've seen so far is 49C. Beware of two things if installing it; one of the pads that comes with the block didn't reach one of the chips on the board (so I used the original pad for it instead), and the instructions don't tell you to put the IO plate between card and backplate when putting the backplate in (causing a temporarily bent backplate, which I fixed by using the IO plate).

Does the alphacool block for fe model come with a custom backplate? Need to turn my 3090FE from 3 slots to two. Right now waiting for EK block which comes with 1 slot IO, but given how long its taking seen the alphacool block being available start of January

yes backplate is included

Oops, sorry did not mean backplate, meant rear IO panel. So right now 3090FE IO panel is 3 slots. EK have a new IO panel which will turn it into a 1 slot card from comments they have made, similar to the 3080FE block they now sell. I am wondering if the aquacomputer block is similar for 3090FE. While not yet out yet (I think) wondering mostly from those who may have there 3080FE or other blocks if a new IO cover is included.
