Nvidia 30X0 series waterblocks

Connected mine with flex tubing just to quickly check and I get delta +13C(to water temp) when playing Cyberpunk (1000rpm fans). Average when playing and OC I get 2100mhz speed, max settings including RTX psycho and quality DLSS. So temps are good for me, had around 45C after 30min run. Stock cooling gave me 80C+ as standard.

At idle temp=water temp (25C currently for me).

Also interesting that (checking with IR gun), temp of the backplate was almost exactly like temp of the core (45C), so there is quite a lot of heat transfer to the back which is good. Rest of the block was around 10C lower. I guess there could be some temp reduction with decent airflow on it (don't know if it's standard for current blocks as for my previous card backplate was just for looks).

In Timespy I got around 200 points more with the same settings so not crazy amount ( but my best scores on stock cooler were obviously when it was cold , so not when card had 70C).;)

Full OC for me is +160, higher than this was crashing CP. On stock cooler I could run Timespy as well with this OC but no gaming as card would be boiling so can't say it was stable.

Something to note for those with custom power cables, I got mine from Moddiy, it needed a bit of rough paper and work on them to squeeze them in. Gap for plug is quite tight, there is no space for anything larger than plastic that holds pins.

My plug had some sort of melted, glued rubber around cables, not full plastic plug like on their photo. It needed cutting even to plug it into FE cooler as it was blocked on fins

Nice, I got a PCIE cable from Moddiy as well but didnt have the same probelm with my 3090. Just lucky I guess.

It’s because they are using the wrong connector and pins, the nvidia connector is by Anstron not microfit. I have taken some pics of my progress today, uploading now :)

Im sticking with the seasonic cable for now as it’s pretty smart for unsleeved. Yes I know the water cooling is worth more than the pc it’s cooling shoot me :p

I am also aware that I lose the top hdcp or hdmi connector with my vertical GPU dremmeling, I don’t mind.

need more fittings to arrive, then I can start bending :)

Oh and the block:

the backplate is gorgeous!

Moddiy have changed their cables now and the new ones don't have that anymore. I asked them in chat and they would not do anything for the people that got the original cable.

Looking good. I feel you about the expesnive watercooling bits. I will be building a new loop in March going into an 011 XL - Based on the cost of the 3080FE Block from EK (hoping the 3090 is the same but appreciate it will be a bit more ) is going to be like €1200 just for the loop :D

A few Pics of my build after fitting the EK-Quantum Vector Strix RTX 3080/3090 D-RGB - Nickel + Plexi & backplate to the 3090 Strix last week , very happy with how its performing :D

Some leak testing. Mixture of different fittings as this is what I currently have :) maybe in the future I will replace extenders as well with satin EK as I really like the looks.

Thanks :)

Here is turned on with RGB and EK Mystic Fog. I went with GPU in normal position to avoid future issues with risers and to play with resizable bar, when it comes to nvidia cards.

I did a video of my 3080fe teardown :p If anyone would like to see additional video to igors lab and GN.

Nicely made video and looks simple enough, I'll run firestrike a few times before my teardown just to help loosen up the thermal paste.

Thanks, I was running tests just before strip down but it took a while before I actually unplugged everything :/

Second part with waterblock installation :)

I asked EK about whether they plan to offer a black backplate with a black block for the Founders edition and this was their response:

"thank you for contacting us.
Unfortunately, at the moment we have no plans to make different colors of FE water blocks.
Maybe in the future, so stay tuned to our news for more."

Pity you're not in Australia, I have the silver block coming and I'd prefer the silver backplate. Would gladly swap.

Hello, I've had this issue with the EKWB Vector Reference block. No D RGB for me when I connect it to the motherboard.

Was a stressful build so I was happy that was my main issue! Haven't bothered trying another header yet or any other trouble shooting.

All the other RGB is turned on. Using a Gigabyte Aorus Master X570.

Let us know if you find anything out, or if it's just dead.

I so can't be asked to take it out the loop, I might take the back plate off and check the wire its annoying but no really worth the hassle
