NVIDIA 4000 Series

So, if the 4000 series even launches in 2022, we're most likely only getting the 4090 with the rest following in Q1 2023? Have been out of the loop lately.
They have announced an announcement for 19th Sept, if that's the launch then were likely looking at 5th/12th Oct release for 4090.. so likely get the 4080 in Dec, uless they release them together. God knows how supply is going to be.

People keep forgetting the scalpers will be in full force and that's going to be the main problem if supplies are in short supply, we have yet to see how the supply will be and if it is not keeping up with demand then expect scalpers to be out to rip you off.

The scalpers *tried* to scalp the 5800X3D. That worked for about a week, maybe two. If these cards can't print money like Ampere did at launch, scalpers who expect pixel-pushers to sell like money-printers will be in for a rude awakening.

To write that there's "no reason" is inaccurate. There are rumours are that Nvidia may delay the 4080/4070 releases to 2023 to shift 3000 inventory. https://www.hardwaretimes.com/nvidi...090-only-40-series-gpu-to-land-in-2022-rumor/
No doubt the bulk of the line up will be released i.e. when the cards are available in early 2023. At most, the 4090 Flounders may become available in small quantities (so they sell out quickly, feigning strong demand) in November. That said, the soft launch (announcement and marketing push) will start next month.

Yep. Though this time there won't be as much demand and supply will catch up much quicker. I am happy to wait until the summer as that is the earliest games that will need the extra grunt over what I got which I am interested in playing will be coming out.

I will just patiently wait and grab one MSRP :)

Same, I'm in no rush atm for the same reasons, that and the 3080 is still smashing it at both 3440x1440 and 4k.

Yeah, I'd be in no rush with a 3080 either:D
Thankfully, most of the games in my backlog are older titles and the newer ones that don't run that well I just put on hold, like Cyberpunk and DL2 so that I could experience them with RT when I finally upgrade.

RTX 4070 Ti probably will have 192 bit memory bus and 12GB GDDR6X, performance will be at RTX 3090 Ti level while RTX 4070 probably will have 160 bit memory bus and 10GB GDDR6X, performance will be at RTX 3090 level.

Sounds good to me. What makes it a good or bad GPU will depend on price :)

inb4 "intentionally gimped/hamstrung with 10gb vram" comments ;) :D

It's what I have been expecting all along where a 4070 will match/beat 3090 "overall", as you said, the key is pricing, needs to be less than £600 imo, having said that, nvidia could still sell it for up to £800 and market it as being a 3090 competitor for £600 less.

If they try and price the 4070 or even the 4070 Ti for £800 then they can keep it. No chance I would pay that.

With inflation affecting every single thing, not a chance.

Also agree there is almost zero chance of it being £400. I am guessing £500-£600 because of our current weak arse currency.

4070 level should be about £400 max but it won't be.
No, no way RTX 4070 should be about £400 max.

RTX 3070 was launched back in 1 Sept 2020 at about £399 min, that was the price for cheapest card when US Dollar was stronger traded at $1.33641. Custom RTX 3070 cards was priced about £499. US Dollar is now weaker current trade at $1.16899 today.

So RTX 4070 start price should be about £450 minimum if Liz Truss will be next PM, she will plan to cut 20% VAT down to 10% in September.

It really should be.

Do you really think retailers are gonna sell products 10% lower or just mark up another 10%?
