NVIDIA 4000 Series

Likewise for the 4070Ti we only have around 49 cards left of which I reduced price today to clear.

So a 4070ti priced to clear is £800 huh... I'd still rather get a 7900XT at that price.

I've seen some initial pricing on 4070S starting at £580 for the cheapest AIBs. The majority of AIBs are £620+ (i.e. for better cooling, warranty, etc), unless those prices are temporary before 2pm.
When a 7800XT is going for £500 and under, I'm not sure who'd be paying 20+% more for less than 20% performance difference.
Maybe AMD don't need price drops for the Supers. Lucky them.

IMHO, for 1440p & 4k, I'd still be looking at 7900XT and beyond, regular 4070ti doesn't cut the mustard enough in benchmarks.
Probably 4070tiS and 4080S will be the interesting ones to look out for against the 7900XT and 7900XTX.
But again I bet the decent AIBs will be priced way above MSRP to really challenge the AMD cards.

@Neil79 what res you running you could even stop gap a 4070SFE and bank the cash, 4070's decent enough @1440p but you need to turn down RT/PT if you want higher fps, Supers going to get +~15%.
A 4070 Super or a 7800XT would be excellent stop gap cards, given the less than stellar price to performance of the RTX 4000 series and to a slightly lesser degree the RX 7000 series, and a 4070 S would get you through at least to the RTX 6000 (not sure if that will be the series number or minimum pricing), barring any revolutionary technology changes.

Though if you are using a RTX 3000 card you can afford to wait until the RTX 5000 series, and upgrading now should only really be considered if your card is really old, like a GTX 1000 series and below, or your graphics card has failed.

I bought a brand new 2070 Super in a fit of drunken madness for £470, luckily it was early am, and my bank cancelled the transaction!

Sober me came to my senses when I woke up! :p
They dropped the 2000 super series prices (just like they've done with the 4000 super series!) from the original 2000 series MSRP so the 2070 Super was 469(?) - and I think, for some strange reason, Nvidia made their founder edition cards more expensive for the 2000 series release at launch.

I do love a drunk purchase, waking up to a delivery of a 4ft lava lamp is still my strangest one yet.

Could the "bargain", of the RTX 4000 series be the 4070 Ti non-super, while stocks last, as the price is hopefully going to be reduced greatly to move them, to make way for the super variant, as they have better performance than a 4070 Super?

I have a 3070 TI which is perfect in most games up until the latest titles such as Alan Wake II, Cyberpunk RT, The Witcher 3 RT and Ratchet and Clank Raytracing. Everyone of those games really needs a decent GPU and I don't want to keep having to use the Frame Gen mod just to get decent frames.:(

Yes a 4070Ti is faster than a 4070 Super, but the latter is £579 compared to the cheapest 4070Ti which is £749, as such 4070 Super is a far better buy value for money wise and the newer 4070Ti Super has more VRAM and more performance and will be available for under £800.

The 4070Ti and 4080 are obsolete now, don't buy them unless mega cheap as in like £650 for a 4070Ti and £899 for a 4080 Super, hence why I am glad OcUK has none to worry about, if I can do some new deals to hit price points I am suggesting I will buy some but the deals I have been offered don't even come close to cutting it so just better to no longer list the product and phase it out.

Gibbo, are we likely to see any 4080 super cards under £1000?
