NVIDIA 4000 Series

In other news, I kinda like that in Silent Hill 2 I can lock the fps to 75 and the 4090 is running at 145-around 175 watts, quiet and cool for high fidelity gaming. How I like it. The max seems to be around 275 watts.

Wattage seems stupidly low for a modern game, volt modded?

Nope just undervolted to 950mV. The game is UE5 so has the classic CPU optimisation issues which has a knockon effect to what the GPU can do, so in that situation can just set a fixed frame cap and benefit from an even lower GPU utilisation and maintain that cap consistently until an area is reached that has weird frame drops due to optimisation again.

Looking to upgrade my 3080ti so considering a 4090.

Just wondering if it's worth waiting for the 5000 series.
Well since you are in that territory, I think 5080 is rumored to be around 4090 perf, less memory, less power and cheaper
I would wait, its 3 months away
Although there could be 4090 deals in between?

I'm in a similar position, but as alec suggests, I'm going to wait for the 5000 series to arrive, and see the prices first.
If a good deal on a 4090 pops up before then, my will power may be tested ;)

Forget about deals for 4090, they're not produced anymore, still selling well and they will likely vanish from shelves before we see 5k series on the market. There's not been a real sale for these - it's rather the opposite now.

I'm happy with my 4090FE I have no desire to upgrade now to 50 series, even if it's 3X faster. And I'm glad I feel this way. One of the main reasons being most new titles are rubbish to me and I'm doing all my gaming Now on my new SteamDeck which has been fantastic buy. This after shelling out 900 hundred quid on an Alienware AW3225QF gaming monitor too! But you live and you learn.just prefer SD.
