NVIDIA 4000 Series

Stupid question.

Why are the 4080s more expensive than the cheapest 4080 super?

Noticed the 4080s all out of stock as well.

4080 super over 4070ti super might be an option for me.

They were released right at the start of this gen, the supers were the refresh. Having said that I'm not sure why shops still price them the way they do

Thanks - I've basically been told in another thread that there's no point buying a 4080 over a 4080 super.

Given the 4080 supers aren't much more than 4070ti super I think I'll go 4080s

I've been pretty happy with my 4080 Super - but I also managed to get it closer to a price that made more sense (sort of - had Christmas "bonus" vouchers from work to spend and the retailer didn't have anything else I was interested in).

I think I'm going to get one, not a huge increase in price of the 4070 TI, but not crazy money like the 4090 which I won't make proper use of.

A big old yoke for sure.

Same. Unexpected bonus from work last April so effectively no outlay given what I'd budgeted for.

But it is a great card and being 16GB, I'll probably keep it unless the FOMO kicks in :D

There is surprisingly little around about the Zotac GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super Solid.

I bought one a few weeks ago in the early black friday sale on OC, but haven't opened it yet as I'm still waiting on a couple of other parts arriving from OC and other river themed retailers.

It's still the best deal around on a 4070 ti, though as of today you can find cards from MSI and Gigabyte for about £40 more.

I'm not going to swap it or anything but I have been surprised by how few videos etc there are on this card. According to reddit it uses 4090 dies which weren't considered good enough rather than the standard 4070 ti version, but I highly don't that makes any noticeable difference good or ill

I know I could have went for the 7900xt. Probably sounds silly (and likely is) but I very rarely upgrade my PC (every 6 years or so) and I've had a series of AMD GPUs and I just wanted to try Nvidia this time
Got one of these delivered yesterday for £710. Christ they are huge cards. Admittedly my last gpu was a 980ti with a water block on it so this 3x 100mm fan, 3 slot design beast was always going to be larger. Since I don't yet have a block for it I've had to redo my entire WC loop for now just to fit it in to my case which is hardly small.

The 980ti lasted 9 years and cost me £500 before I got rid of it a few months back. Hoping this will do at least as well with my 14900k for about the same amount of time. Need to decide whether I bother getting a block for it or not.

Time to fire up windows solitaire to really make it earn its keep.

From what little I've found about the cards they tend to run cool and quiet due to the huge cooler.

It's a mega card, if you can get one then good for you! Enjoy it!

I had one before, sold it for a 7900xtx which I actually ended up liking a lot (much better value as I don't really care for ray tracing in most games) but in some it adds a lot to the experience (like 4 games lol)

main reason is to see how many games I am playing can hit 480hz or get close with the 4090 to gauge if I need the 5090 or not

I got the 4090 for £1010 2nd hand ;) so not as bad as it initially looks
