I do have to wonder if that is with or without DLSS 2.0 on the 3090ti vs dlss 3.0 on the 4090??

The naming on those cards seems really odd. Presumably they have plans for the 4070 name, but couldn't they have called the higher power one something more clearly different, given that's it got over 25% more cores as well as the extra memory? I dunno 4080 Ti or 4080+ or something?

2x faster in Flight Sim but their own demo showed that flight sim runs at half the speed with DLSS 3.0 off - so does that mean the 4090 runs Flight Sim at the same speed as the 3090Ti without DLSS? It's not even clear that DLSS was being used on the 3090Ti for comparison (it's currently in beta I believe).
The RT games make more sense 'cause 40xx has more RT cores.
Highly likely, but not 100% certain (yet).
I would drop down to less than 5fps in Cyberpunk with everything maxed out with no DLSS at 4K native on my 3080, so if you extrapolate the numbers, 23fps on a 4090 is quite impressive.

I don't think they've confirmed that, but the way they were talking about it suggests that's the case. Probably it requires the new hardware to run.

More like; Look at what it does using DLSS, at 8K... and stupid settings no one cares about.
Seems like the DLSS 3 off version was 3090 Ti and DLSS 3 on one was 4090. Completely useless.

I'm not even mad about that 4090 price the 80 class is a bad joke, seriously selling a 70 class as 4080 12GB £1000 card is a royal middle finger at customers.
Only thing I'm mad about with the 4090 is no more NVLINK and he glossed right over that.
It is not a real pro card anymore without it, only pros that will want it are pros that use one GPU and 24GB VRAM, real pros are using dual setups or more but then they don't need NVLINK if more unless they double them up to 4 cards or more and use riser boards to move them to another part of the case or even another case.4090 is nothing more than the 4080ti this time.

I've been buying new GPU's at release for nearly 30 years, on principle alone I'm not paying those prices, no way, I'll be staying a gen or two behind now relying on the second-hand market and investing more time in my consoles.
