My Zotac does this on my LG 27950N 4K.Screen do you have? I only ask as my TUF does the same on a DP connect but on HDMI 2.1 it's fine (PG48UQ).
After trying lots of different things tonight to try get it working nothing has worked but seem i am able to get into the bios as normal by hitting the delete / F2 key afer a restart or power on and the screen will eventually pop up BUT no matter what i can't get the Asus splash screen ( saying hit F2 for bios) to show up and when loading into windows still has the windows log rather than rog , i know this is minor but its not they way it should be an is annoying as hellScreen do you have? I didn't hear a click . But i pushed the connector in with a high amount of force, wouldn't want to try applying more force in case i break something. I have looked at the connector, there's no sign of melting. I will double check by pushing down on it later this morning. Thanks for the heads up.More testing from Jonny GURU on the adaptor cables.

To me after reading some of the comments this is beginning to look like more and more of a user error rather than a cable issue.
People not plugging them in fully whether it's at the GPU end or the PSU end.
Still no explanation from Nvidia as to why but as someone pointed out maybe they need to reeducate users on their products when they're consuming this much current the importance of seating cables and connectors fully without sounding patronising to the customer.
After all when you buy a new PSU there are plenty of the warnings on the unit and the documentation regarding the PSU's themselves so maybe they need to start adding the same warnings to GPUs (Some do already with these cables in the box my inno3d does)
Still it doesn't excuse it happening but it's looking like user error to me.
We've all been there haven't we, How many times have you not seated your ram or GPU properly in the slots and your system won't boot?
Remember this connector has a very little tolerance for a tight connection make sure you hear the click when plugging into the GPU, Mine was very stiff to seat home fully but you can feel and hear the click when you have pressed it down fully.
Edit...And as I type that I find this post who admits after going back to his connector he had to reseat it because it was so stiff and only then he heard the click after reconnecting it again.
Don't mash your GPUs down either connect the adaptor cable to your GPU first with a bit of a wiggle and a little force but make sure you hear the click, If it's already in the case support the GPU with your other hand while pressing down.

Mine did need some force before I heard a light click, Don't over force it but if possible shine a torch or something if possible if already mounted and check the little plastic clip of the on the plug side of the connector is fully over the actual plug clip locking end, It's hard to see but you may be able to see it, Mine definitely clicked but it wasn't a loud click a faint one but I did hear it, Just don't over force anything we shouldn't have to that but this connector is so small and tight it seems they have not left any margin for a loose fit compared to normal PCIE connectors.I didn't hear a click . Nothing I can see no.anything for your TUF ?

i don't hear coil whine tbh so either my hearing is duff (i doubt it, i hear most things) or i've not a had gpu with real coil whine. You're probably in the "lucky" camp of those that can't hear the coilwhine either
When I received my 4090 on the 13th October, I spent a good 5 minutes making sure my 16 pin Nvidia adaptor was connected, as it wasn't easy to get it fully insert into the card. Think I took it out once or twice so I could do it again, the final attempt it was completely flush and I was happy with it.
To me that's common sense, though appreciate PC building is very different (much easier) in this day and age compared to how it was 20-25 years ago when I began. Gone are the days of no IHS and having to artfully cover tiny CPU dies with arctic silver, then carefully tightening the heatsink screws down in a diagonal fashion. Now a child can pretty much build a PC like it's lego, with little risk of breaking anything.
I imagine there are quite a few 4090's with 16 pin cables not fully inserted.
Jonny Guru is great! I heard he had moved to Corsair and stopped reviewing PSUs thoughMore testing from Jonny GURU on the adaptor cables.

My Asus Strix 3090 has some pretty ridiculous coil whine.
Managed to get a 4090FE from the drop the other night, installed last night and wow! What a card! MW2 runs fantastic now without DLSS and maxes out the 120fps on my 4k screen .
However, On afterburner, I am able to move the Power slider to 133% but it does not seem to make any difference to the boost clocks? Anyone else seen this at all?
So RDNA 3 launch is at 4 pm EST, 8 PM UK today I believe?
My 4090 FE is still within the return window
See you all there!
