The whole Halo product concept is dumb and it's how you end up in this mess. There is no such thing as a Halo product. They can price the Halo product however much they want to but dragging the rest of the stack up is just arrogant.

There are reasonably priced products and overpriced products. Nvidia will still give you a £250 GPU it's just the performance will be poor which makes it an overpriced product even if it's cheap.
Seeing the 4080 omni for £1199, that's actually msrp going by exchange rate.
Now reduce that by another £500 and we will be at what they should have been priced at from the get go.
Seeing a bunch of people starting to post 4080 builds on reddit. People need to stop this right this instant. Prices need to drop to what these cards /should/. be at and you're not helping.
Tbf you have zero right to tell people how to spend their money, if they're not getting value then that's their fault for not doing due diligence.Seeing a bunch of people starting to post 4080 builds on reddit. I just looked at the OCUK Black Friday "Nvidia deals": two 3080s - one £900 and the other £930. Bargains. Now reduce that by another £500 and we will be at what they should have been priced at from the get go.
It's just common logic/sense as far as the 4080 is concerned.Tbf you have zero right to tell people how to spend their money, if they're not getting value then that's their fault for not doing due diligence.
Yes, but that's the buyers responsibility and not yours to police. It's just common logic/sense as far as the 4080 is concerned.
I'd like to think that the 4080 reception would cause Nvidia to rethink their strategy and conclude that £1269 was too expensive.
However, Jensen and everyone at Nvidia towers are probably concluding that £1700 was too little for the 4090.
Wasn't that £900 PNY 3080 £700 a couple of months ago?I just looked at the OCUK Black Friday "Nvidia deals": two 3080s - one £900 and the other £930. Bargains.
Jensens next move will probably be to discontinue the 4090 in the new year and replace it with a slightly faster 4090ti starting at $2000.I'd like to think that the 4080 reception would cause Nvidia to rethink their strategy and conclude that £1269 was too expensive.

The more you buy the more you save! That's why this guys looks so happy as he's saved himself loads of money.
