NVIDIA 4000 Series

Why

I'm probably being think, but why do nVidia need AIBs? Really? It's their chip, there's nothing stopping them coming out with a range of coolers and clock speeds at various price points if they need to.
They don't need AIBs. The FE design proved that, by far the best value for money and by far the best looker. And it was at MSRP. They must have sold millions of FE worldwide I reckon.

Cheaper for them to outsource the extra marketing, manufacturing, distribution and support (and risk).
the FE proved this is not the case.

Hopefully we'll see more FE for the 4000 series.

nonsense....

I wait till the 4000 is released then officially benched vs the 3090.

Exactly... I will believe it when I see it and the memory bus at 160bit is comical and 10GB.. anyways I think this hype train is going to derail so fast with this next gen cards and will end up looked at like the 20 series. Problems with next gen no matter how many of you here think it's normal to run such high power cards and the silly temps they will produce in your average case (coming from a guy with 2 x 3090 in his setup), the real benefits will only come to people using high power systems with all the right cooling, then expect to bake in summer but your pc will be fine while it throws all that heat into your room. My setup is needed for work and that's why I have to bare it and I set it up nicely to run well and not ever throttle, but that was not a cheap setup and not your average use case.

With all this hype going around this coming gen (even more than normal) I feel they are setting us up for a fall and the people that will preorder it before reviewers get them in their hands to do real tests on them and show all the real world issues and real world performance and not some setup Nvidia or AMD results that never really show real world use or if they do they will be hand picked software and your own software doesn't benefit as much. BUT hopeful we get some real performance gains and new features that make using gpus better.

BUT...

RTX 4070 is on par to RTX 3090

The numbers are a bit funky.

For example: he claims the 4080 has 40% more cores than the 4070 but that the 4080 is 50% faster in benchmarks than the 4070. He also claims the 4090 has 60% more cores than the 4080, but that the 4090 is only 25% faster than the 4080.

So these numbers don't make any sense, they don't pass the sniff test. He's just made them up for clicks

AIBs did a lot of damage during Ampere with their huge mark ups, Nvidia also lost trust in them due to the way they were selling to miners which is why LHR cards were initially limited to AIBs and not FE. Even HUB noticed this, and he said himself he looked at the MSRP from AIBS going up and up and up and up every few weeks, as people were solely blaming retailers and Nvidia/AMD with AIBs considered saints.

However Nvidia do need the AIBs for their reach into the market so I think the launch will of course include AIBs.
You miscalculated, nvidia did that to corner and monopolise the higher margin mining sector for themselves.

Had nothing to do with getting more cards to single card buying end users.

RTX 4070 is on par to RTX 3090
So 4070 on par with the 3090 while consuming nearly the same amount of power (300w vs 350w). While sporting normal GDDR6 and less vram on a node shrink.

Something ain’t adding up unless Nvidia have managed to botch their design two generation in a row.

Read my post, the numbers are bs

I may be forced to stay off this gen with the rumoured high power consumption and not accounting for the power spikes may shorten the life of my old 12+ year old 500w Seasonic PSU as it seems even the 4050/4060 may be 250w.

For those who think my PSU is old and I should upgrade, NEVER! (Will def buy another Seasonic tho)

a 850w Seasonic psu will cost you only £90 from OcUK (I checked)

if that is an issue... you shouldn't be considering a £500+ GPU addition to your system

is your ability to plan your own finances really that bad?

It must have been over 15 years since I had a 500W or lower PSU...

Priorities dude!

Easy to spend over £5k on a night out for 2 people in Ibiza, if you want.

Jump on a second hand 2060 or something...

Keeping that PSU is just a bad idea and it constitutes a risk to your system. If you upgrade your CPU/GPU then you really should upgrade your PSU as that old thing likely is not strong or stable enough to handle the rigours of modern hardware. Look on the bright side: if you buy a modern PSU then you won't need to upgrade it for another 5-10 years.

Just LOL at how utterly daft this post is. :D

I don't get it? If you are not going to bother upgrading your PSU, then why even consider buying a new expensive GPU.
