NVIDIA 4000 Series

I was just about to pull teh trigger on a 4090 untill i checked the specs for a ek waterblock. Depth of the waterblock is deeper then my O11D XL has to spare :( gonna wait and see what happens with AMD now
EK-Pro 4090 block with the terminals on the end and a cablemod 90 degree power cable adapter might work?

I think Nvidia and the retailers thought that these would sell out regardless of the price after what happened over the past 2 years but it turns out without crypto mining these GPUs are just not worth what they thought they would be.

They still did the job to help upsell 200K+ 4090's so I doubt he is too bothered. Lol

Still about £400 too much :p ;)

But not bad tbf in the grand scheme of things

Fixed :p

A great watch, don't get ripped of @TNA ;) :p :D

All in all, unless we see more of must play/good games in coming months, I am firmly waiting until price drops or/and next gen now.

Exactly. Nothing on the horizon that makes me want to pay silly money to upgrade over my 3080 Ti.

Now if Nvidia drop the 4080 to £700 or there abouts I may reconsider just to have something new and shiny. But honestly with all this silly pricing this just feels like another unexciting Turing generation to me. So if they hit that price in 12+ months I won't bother as it will be too late by then as might as well wait for 5000 series.

Considering the 4070 Ti is $899 for the founder edition according to reports I doubt the 4080 is going to drop much.

Well they won't be getting my money then. Simples :)

I thought AMD may have wanted my money as it has been a few years now, but nope. They went silly with pricing too. Can't blame them though, so many people happy to buy at such prices.

What I dont get is that a lot of cases are built for a max of 320mm cards.

Why have nearly all manufacturers gone slightly above that?

With Ampere you still had most cards below that. 4080FE is only 304mm.

I'm sure he's deeply upset that all the potential 4080 buyers are buying 4090s instead
Even the 4090s are all in stock so I think majority of people willing to spend over £1000 on a card are mostly done now.

Oddly the thing that's selling the best right now seems the 7900XTX so maybe the anti nvidia sentiment that the 4080 caused may not just have cost sales but also damaged the mindshare of the brand.

I doubt it, probably not even a minor dent.
