NVIDIA 4000 Series

I go by performance if the 4070ti really is close to the 3090ti as shown by nvidia's own charts at 4K without DLSS 3 I would say thats pretty impressive they only showed few charts and could have been cherry picked and not show the full picture still yet to see how it compares at 1440p which it should be for , its just the pricing for 70ti card that is high imo

I may be wrong but when was the last time 60 tier card pretty much matched last gens flagship ?
Its still a 60 class in terms of bus speed and die area, the only reason it looks good on performance is the 2 node jump from samsung 8 > TSMC N4. Samsung 8 was around a TSMC 10NM.

any time in the past 60 tier has matched or been close to last gens flagship in performance ? of course still yet to see how the 4070ti performs and not going by nvidia's cherry picked charts .

if it retained close enough to 70 tier past pricing and it was close to performance to last gens flagship would you say it still wasnt good because its cut down ?[/QUOTE]

This is what happens when you are beholden to 2 companies to supply /enable the entire ability for your hobby to exist .... public company maximizing profit ... nothing new it just sucks ... but if people are buying them overall I am sure they don't care about 1 specific SKU being slow if they are selling loads of 4090s/4070/ti's etc.

I don't know how many more threads can be started/replied to with people just repeatedly whining and making the exact same arguments about cards and ridiculing others... Buy it/don't buy imo....
No, this is what happens when absolute whoppers with FOMO pay any price they ask.

These are the people Jensen loves.

The 3060ti was close to a 2080ti within 10-15% for £369.

It will be interesting to see if nvidia can beat cards like the 3080/3070/3060ti on performance with this generations price equivalents considering how much further cut down these will be.

800 would be my absolute limit but even then I wouldn't feel like I was getting much of a deal considering the much smaller die used this time compared to getting the top silicon last time for £150 cheaper.
I think 800 would be fair considering inflation and the prices of last gen.

But NGreedia think otherwise, for now. The vast majority aren't paying these prices, so let them rot on the shelves until the greed factor wanes.

i would say it would be unreasonably optimistic to assume prices on street will be anywhere close to msrps for the 4070 ti.. the thing is there's no founders edition this time around
so my best guess is we would be starting with the customary joke from asus

3070 was pretty much on par with 2080ti for £469, if they have the performance because of advances fair play to them its the pricing that isnt

interewsting to see next gen cards when they cant jump 2 processes and get decent performance, maybe time for 0% performance increase but still 1k price tag? :p
They will be forced to use larger dies again next time unless they plan to use MCM although that didn't go so well for AMD who already had the expertise in that area.

Upgrading from a 1080ti to 4080 founders edition. My current PSU is a Corsair 860i , is this ok to use? I know it has enough power but the new Nvidia connectors are confusing... Thanks

I understand it need 3 pcie connectors, would I just use any of the 3 connectors on the right?

thats fine as long as you have enough pcie cables for it, i personally used the octopus adapter for 2 weeks till my cablemod one arrived

any of the 3 labelled 1-6 on the right, those are all for gpu or cpu

Is it okay to use that adapter cable if I don't have 3 separate pcie cables?

not if you plan to plug both of those connectors into the card :P
