NVIDIA 4000 Series

He’s easily please because most people who are going to pay near double the price of their previous card for a next gen gpu 2 years later should be expecting more of an uplift than just 50%.
Really? Now you seem to be grasping at tenuous straws. So, rather than double down on your last statement you might be better off sticking to facts rather than making sweeping assumptions then trying to attach opinions to those assumptions.

He might have paid over £1000 for his 3080 (like a non-mining friend of mine did) which means he's not paying anywhere near double now for his 4080. Moreover, "easily pleased" is more of that puerile opinion which is best kept in your head as you have no idea of his budget, his situation or what he wants to achieve in his gaming.

You'd be better advised to stick to numbers and figures rather than making judgement of others, telling them what they should or shouldn't expect.

If you have a thick radiator like Arctic LFII it won't fit unless FE or a 33cm length card.
Pic is old,got the cablemod a week ago but too lazy to switch.

Tight.

I'm looking at the gamerock myself, I have the kraken x52 in there but not sure it's dimensions.

From what I recall from his previous posts he bought an 3080FE new so paid £650, and now owns a 4080 suprim X which is over double the price so its not an assumption at all.

I think the numbers speak for themselves when buying a card a gen later for double the cost that just a 50% uplift is poor.

Here is the numbers showing a 3080ti gained 83% over a 2080.

Prices could possibly come down, remember how 2080tiFE launched at £1050 then 3080 was back to £649, (Allegedly due to heavy criticism of the Turing pricing). Who knows, all depends on how well ampere sells, prices right now are laughable.

I think if we don’t see price cuts by the spring then we’ll see a late summer super refresh which brings some sanity back though I expect the 4080 will be replaced by an AD102 4080ti at $1200 sooner rather than later and the former adjusted to $999 regardless of what happens with refreshes.

Prices on 30xx models have been creeping up over past 1-2 months and retailers running out of stocks, tbh I dont see prices dropping in summer, or possibly at all. Supply is still too constrained

Plenty of 4000 series stock though. On OCUK the 4070ti has every sku in stock just a couple of weeks after launch which is unprecedented for a new GPU release going back years.

The more you pay the more you pay next time.

Wait until next gen when the 5080 is £1600 and it looks like a 5070, and the 5090 is £2K and upwards. And the 5070, which is actually the 4060ti is now £1200.

Why on earth are you are replying with that chart as if I said I disagree with it or it proves something to me?

For the record, I was mortified at the price of the 4000 series cards. My missus cooked my favourite foods and did all the stuff I 'like' but I was still left curled up in bed under my sheets inconsolable for days after the price of 4000 series was revealed! Now, I refuse to put a 4000 card in my system even if Jensen paid me and gave me his leather jacket!

That being said, it does not give me (or you) the right to be a condescending so and so to those who do want to give Jensen their money.
