NVIDIA 5000 SERIES

Just picked up a new 7900xtx hellhound for £630. Was wanting to get a 5080 but seems like it’s terrible value and hardly any improvement and people saying price will drop a lot so gonna wait it out for a 5080 super or 60 series

I'll hopefully be going from a 3080ti to a 5080FE.
I believe fe cards can only be obtained from Nvidia site this time?
Anyone know how I go about preregistering my details in Nvidia site?
I had a go at registering my payment details on Nvidia site a couple of days ago but couldn't do it.

Sadly the 60 series is probably going to be at least 2-3 years away

They go through another party , can't name due to being competitor that's who you need to register with or complete check out as guest

Nvidia drop on site will link it to them

Nvidia doesn't handle the sales themselves so you can't pre-register on their website, when it goes live there'll be a link to where you can buy them

As a VR whore, I really have no choice with a struggling 3090FE, other than a 5090FE now. Was really hoping the 5080 might have some secret sauce. Used 4090's really not an option now either. Time to lube up I guess....
I'm really hoping to get a 4090 I think. I've had a 4080 for 2 years I can sell, and it's the same thing, I want more VR raster

I notice there's a local 2000 CAD 4090 FE on facebook, I'm not gonna look into it - I'm hoping for cheaper and for a AIB card - but that would cost me like, half of what a 5090 would

also with how little uplift you get outside of specific 4k/9800x3d use, it's crossed my mind that the 5090 might not be as great in VR as the 4090 might be? That's pure speculation though, I still assume the 5090 will be best - I'm just hoping to get confirmation on that stuff

You reckon a 5080 super be out within the year? It’s either that or a new xtx amd card but idk when that comes out
Even if its out within the year, the way the 5080 and 5090 are priced, its going to come in at 1500 and probably perform only ever so slightly better than the 4090

This whole gen is really for people who have cards that are 30 series or older

Has been nVidia's way lately annoyingly, they'll probably try and rinse the people on 3000 series or older now, then Super cards to try and tempt in people on 4000 series which likely won't be hugely faster than the current offerings :s though manufacturing supply and uncertainty may have some bearing as well.

Quite annoying as I'd probably jump if there was something appropriately priced and had more than 16GB VRAM in the space between the 4080 Super and 5090.

Yes, it is quite disappointing but if you need a card and the other choices are a 4090 second hand for £1300-1400 or a second hand 4080 super for £700-800 a 5080 for £1000 is the better deal.

Some of those benchmarks like Elden ring must be game engine/Driver issues because you can see by the specs there is no reason for the 5080 to perform any worse than a 4080 ever, and even the 5090 isn’t performing in that game.
