**Nvidia G-Sync owners thread**

A Serious Question Before i choose one or sit on the fence for a bit.

What would be better for one 780 ( at the minute may sli later ).

A 4k gsync monitor that will look amazing and hopefully cope with low frames.

A Rog swift that will loook just as amazing ( questionable ) and will cope better than 4k with low frames as they wont drop as much as they will with 4k.

Just tried to replicate that on WOW but mine doesn't do anything. The loading screen thing is the hz level of the monitor going below 30 due to the engine running at a few frames per second whilst it generates the environment for you. You don't notice the same thing when gsync is disabled, but you do notice the horrid lag when you first start it, which is caused by vsync (on) catching up.

Yeah I figured loading was due to low frames, no issue there tbh. As for WoW I tried restarting and it still does it (I'm in 120Hz mode if that matters). Could be a mod I'm running inside it too, either way not a big deal as no other tooltip causes it, just that game info one (doesn't matter what FPS either, does it around ~70 and when it's a solid 120FPS) and I don't run around with that hovered constantly.

anyone know how long asus have the exclusive on that auo panel in the rog swift? will be buying that panel but not the swift for £700

Small Update - I enabled the pre-rendered frames to 1 and activated G-SYNC and can't see any lag now, it's actually very nice indeed. Still playing around with both settings but I may have been wrong that ULMB is the better bet.

Fair enough and appreciate the update. :)

Hmm interesting. I'll have another go then at 120hz instead (Im using 144hz instead) and see if I can replicate it. Do you have 1 gcard or two? I've got 2 780 ti superclocks (evga) for reference.

If you intend on going multi gpu later, get the 4k + gsync monitor, otherwise go for the swift. Won't be disappointed either way.

Newish tech lots of setting will often take awhile to find what works best for each persons hardware and personal preferences imo,, Thanks for keeping us updated

This, and as you're new to the market so to speak, you can have your picks of 6GB 780's too.

6GB 780 SLI + Acer 4k2k GSync = winning combination IMO. Driving frames isn't a problem on 780's, the standard 3GB Vram can be, the 6GB route ticks all the boxes IMO.

Agreed :)

I guess the ulmb will still work with an amd card? As I kinda want the acer 4k2k but I have a 290x and not a 780

Damnit, looks like I may need to go back to nvidia then, I have always preferred them anyways :P

Might as well wait to see what the new cards are on the proper core refresh unless you intend on getting a 780 ti or something now. I'd probably wait though if I were in your position.

Hmm although, does that monitor have any other inputs apart from the custom DP 1.2 job that gsync uses? Might be worth holding off on a purchase until someone tries one on a 290x and makes sure it works as a normal screen. My 24 inch 1080p gsync monitor only has the custom DP interface as all others get removed by the gsync module.
