**Nvidia G-Sync owners thread**

I thought it was always the case that Gsync isn't going to provide much benefit at triple digit frame rates?

I'd like to try ULMB but I'm not that bothered about it. I'll try the Lightboost trick on my BenQ and see how it feels. The colours are already atrocious on my BenQ (compared to my Dell) so any more colour degradation - which seems inevitable -then I think my eyes will bleed to death :D.

No harm in trying at least.

For me colours looked the same, its the brightness that was effected. in a not so good way. Great if you want the upper hand on BF4 though. can see right through all the dark spots,

If you know different please share. One persons opinion is just as valid as someone elses i say. :)

You aren't worth the time and effort communicating with due to your utterly retarded agenda.

The author of the article that you view as gospel even stated on the anandtech forums (under his user ID of Mark Rejhon) that cs go has a quirk that interferes with gsync's frame cap when set to 143 or above. Look at the 120 test on that very chart for confirmation, which they didn't even include a vsync off test for before it was IDENTICAL.

Now, enough of the utter crap and leave the thread to its original purpose, gsync owners.

If you want to bash the technology as usual, go into the other gsync thread and start a "discussion".

What article? I didn't post any article.

I asked some questions, fairly i think, about GSync/FreeSync and ULMB. Your reply is out of order James.

I was hoping to get good feedback on user experience with G-Sync monitors in this thread, but I see that the usual culprits have taken it as an opportunity to force their twisted agendas in an attempt to downplay and dismiss G-Sync and related Nvidia technologies. Thanks a lot guys.

With that out of the way, anyone else here got a nice summary of the ROG Swift that they own? Very close to buying one :)

Other comments aside James - I would be interested to understand the misconceptions. As a 2 day user perhaps I'm guilty of them. I'm going to give GSYNC another crack but my usecase (BF4) is pretty limited so I'm hardly representative of the typical user.

And to LtMatt and Shankly, lords of people who can't read entire articles:

http://www.blurbusters.com/gsync/preview2/

Look at the other TWO graphs (out of 3!) which Shankly couldn't be bothered to "discuss".

BARELY ANY DIFFERENCE between gsync and vsync off for input lag. The differences are well within accepted variation guidelines.

So yeah, lets get back on topic and owners of gsync monitors share their feedback so that others can be better informed for future purchases.

There is more feedback in the Asus SWIFT thread in the monitors forum if you're interested. Opinions seem relatively aligned.

Nobody is going to use G-Sync when they can get 300fps, better to use ULMB and deal with tearing. If you want ultimate performance you will do that anyway.

I just checked the calibration on my Swift and with ULMB On 100 Rate my brightness was actually a 2 points higher than my ULMB Off calibration.

The colour does drop a little but it really isn't anything you would notice.

I strongly suggest people don't judge the performance of the Asus Swift based on other monitors where G-Sync or Lightboost etc is being hacked or added.

You really need to try one of these built for purpose screens for yourself and see just how good it is.

I still cant quite believe that we finally have a monitor with this kind of performance.

Any chance you could post screenshots of your nvidia 3d settings? Are you using different settings (other than the v-sync option) between different modes? Rofflay is suggesting pre rendered frames set to 1 below.

Maybe people have messed up the settings if vsync is indeed to be turned off in game then try disabling triple buffering too and capping fps at 120 or 144. Pre rendered frames or flip queue should be 1 as well if on single cards.

Depends what I am playing. I have Tri SLI so when I am using that it now doesn't matter what setting it is on.
It used to default to 3 for SLI but now it says "This setting does not apply to SLI" so I guess it does something automatically now when SLI is enabled.

If I was to play some CS I would disable SLI and set it MPRF to 1 for the lowest input lag.

Something like BF4 or Crysis 3 where I need the performance I have SLI enabled and ignore that setting, would probably still set it to 1 if it made a difference as G-Sync smooths the gameplay out now anyway, I would only raise it on a single card setup if my minimum frame rate dropped too low to see if it made a difference before lowering graphics settings.

Get a ban because I dont agree with a tech? you for real? I after bow down to everything you think it good?

Well sorry sir but I have my own options on what I find to like and dislike. Thread is about Gsync my Discussion is about Gsync.

Do tell me where I went off topic?

Proving you can't read yet again! Let me clarify the title of the thread for you

*Nvidia G-Sync owners thread**

You don't own a gsync monitor, nor even the gpu to support one anyway. Due to that, you are just trolling, giving your massively uninformed and retarded opinion on things you have no direct dealing with. You can't even read the articles about it correctly lol.

Do you really require me to point out which of the many times you've gone off topic then? Really? Want me to buy you some pampers as well and a rusk whilst we are at it?

Game profiles directly alter the pre-render ahead limit now on most titles that I've tested, so I don't touch it anymore either.
