**Nvidia G-Sync owners thread**

Got an Acer XB27OH g-sync 144Hz monitor a few days ago, got it set up to my liking now.

I'm blown away by the high refresh rate and g-sync, taken gaming to an unexpected level, so smooth and solid.

Anyone thinking about taking the plunge (if you have the funds) then go for it, once you experience it there will be no going back.

The resolution is OK for now, when there are a few more models from makers available I may consider stepping up to 1440p, but for now with AA on 1920*1080 does me fine

Nice one and glad you are enjoying it. Also added to the list in the OP :)

Are you using an icc profile? Can you tell me your settings if you don't mind.

I'm currently using an icc profile from blurbusters forum with these settings

Brightness 6 (for 40nt luminance)
Contrast 50
Gamma 2.2
Color temp - User - Red 46, Green 41, Blue 50

But brightness seems far to low, whites don't look white
Unless he made a typo on brightness.

just wondered what other ppls settings are for this monitor.

I did consider that model myself before going with the 4k GS one. I just felt that a 27" screen was too large for 1080p. After going from 24" 1080p to 27" 1080p I was left feeling a bit flat given the janglies are so much easier to spot on a larger monitor.

Mind you, for the most part it was easily offset running stupid amounts of MSAA..

To those arguing whether G-Sync is real or not? tbh? if that G-Sync module is nothing but a PIC chip then it's a very large and expensive one. I've worked with quite a few PICs in my time, especially within the realms of protection and they're usually far less elaborate. I figured posting that would help, but tbh if Nvidia are charging that much for nothing but a PIC chip then they could make it as elaborate as they wish really.

Still on the fence myself. Would love to say it wasn't a PIC, but then after the recent 970 fiasco I wouldn't put anything past em :D

Hi,

I use a combination of Nvidia Control panel and the monitor settings, got it balanced nicely now so this test ticks almost all the boxes correctly, but bearing in mind what this monitor is capable of.

http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/

Here's my Nvidia control panel settings

I use these in conjunction with monitor settings of

Brightness 40
Contrast 50
Gamma 2.2
Colour Temp Normal

I don't use ULMB only G-sync

On the Lagom site it manages to get decent results with this combination of settings, and tbh I don't know if this is a good test, but it works for me once set up in line with the various screens.

Best of luck.

the resolution is fine for me (as Ive not seen 2560*1440 in the flesh yet :-) ) and I can help it along with AA for now.

G-Sync, hmm well it amazing, running something like heaven benchmark the difference is astounding, the image is so solid, not wobbles, glitching, hitches or tearing, this also spills over into games, coupled with the high refresh rate it's a thing of beauty.

Yeah G-Sync was what finally sold me what with it being 4k and G-Sync. Can't think of a scenario more demanding of smoothing than 4k really :)

Thanks for that looks better than what I had it at.:)
