**Nvidia G-Sync owners thread**

My ASUS PG279Q was setup today. Blimey riley I got a good one. First time owning an IPS screen. No BLB at all. Can not see any. The infamous IPS glow I can see bottom right near the controls and a smidgeon top right but it does not bother me in the slightest. Setup the screen as per TFT Central optimisations and Gregsters Gsync vid. Fired up SW Battlefront and amazed. I think its actually better visually than my 4k Samsung. Gsync / 144mhz everything on Ultra really does work my 980ti. Very impressed.

@ varkanoid... I too got a good panel brother :D
I did make a post on the PG279Q thread but heres a copy ;)

I just want to add my thoughts ROG Swift PG279Q IPS.

I have had my swift for a week or two now & just wanted to say that this is without doubt the best monitor I have ever owned. All my previous panels have been TN and I never really believed all the hype about the difference between TN vs IPS.

Having kept an eye on the thread I was really put off buying a Swift IPS panel with all the negative posts and in fact I missed the 1st & 2nd shipments OcUK received with the monitor selling out in no time at all. So when I seen only 3 left in stock a couple of weeks ago... I decided to bite the bullet & push the button.

Boy I’m I impressed d/loaded the TFT central ICC profile & adjust the brightness & RGB accordingly… OMG this panel just pops. I have an excellent panel with very minimal glow just a little on the bottom right corner. No BLB… No dead pixels… No poor fitting panel surround. In fact would class the build quality as excellent!

I set the NV control to have my desktop set at 60Hz & when it detects a game it boots to 144hz. G-sync is just the dogs nuttz everything is just butter smooth and I luv the fact you have a wee led indicator that turns red to indicate g-sync is running.

In short and “in my experience” this monitor is a game changer, games have never looked or played so well, I luv my Swift its one the best purchases I have ever made… having moved from a TN panel to 144/165Hz G-sync IPS panel.

I would also like to say I have spent nearly £4000 this year with OcUK, everything from a new gaming chair to a new build - Monster PC with all the bell & whistles. In all my dealings I have found OcUK to be very professional, courteous & helpful giving me the expert advice I needed… and the confidence in knowing I was spending my money well.

The Asus ROG Swift PG279Q is been the icing on the cake.

Just to confirm my Swift is a well-built flawless panel with ZERO faults.

There has been some pretty nasty things said about this monitor and I just felt the need to post my experience and how good I feel this monitor is.

varkanoid I'm glad you decided to take the plunge and buy one after I made my post, but I was a little worried just in case you were not totally satisfied.

Glad you got a good one Bro.

Excellent video Greg ;) I'm subscribed

Is this the on/off light ?

Truly amazed by g-sync. BF4 was consistent at 140fps...amazing :D

One thing which does but me, but isn't related to g-sync I don't believe, is that when using DP and booting your machine up, the monitor isn't detected and I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get a signal.

Happens to me from time to time as well on my Dell S2716DG.

I had that first time I plugged it in. BIG PANIC. So I unplugged DP from back of monitor and put in again and a picture. Its not done it since.

How is your GTX780 coping with that? I am tempted by one of those Dells myself but afraid that my GTX780 won't handle it and the only real upgrade is a 980ti which are just stupidly expensive.

Its super smooth mate even when frames drop below 60fps its not noticeable at all thanks to G-Sync that is one of the reasons i went for it.

If you think about it older cards like ours will benefit more from G-Sync because they cant push the fps as high than say a gtx 980ti @1440p;)

I see G-Sync as prolonging the life of my card more :)

Have a read of this.
