**Nvidia G-Sync owners thread**

Oh I should be on the list I guess, had an ASUS PG278Q since Sep 2014. No issues apart from the recent Nvidia drivers which either broke SLI or GSYNC. PSU is the ADP-90YD-B.

How is everyone finding Gsync? Is it worth the extra amount that a Gsync capable monitor brings, does it do what they say it does?

The smoothness is very nice, like others have said it would be hard to go back. I feel like games are running at a better frame rate as a result. One other strange thing - gsync mode stops the coil whine on my 770 :)

No OSD indicator on the del :)

Will look for the G-Sync indicator, but after testing a number of games and a bit of helpful advice from Setter, I think i'm all set and very happy :D :D :D

Here's the glorious Dell S2716DG, glad I went with it and not the swift and at a much lower price of £380 brand new !!!

Pros

- Amazing detail and colours at just 0.80 Gamma/40% Brightness/75% Contrast
- Lovely bezel with none of that gloss stuff, it looks and feels like a high grade monitor with a lot of QA gone into it.
- Comes with a good length DP cable and USB cable
- No Back light bleed or bad pixels that I could see
- Playing in BF4, Ass Creed or Elite Dangerous with Gsync at 144hz 1440p is a sight to behold! It's as smooth as no Vsync but with no tearing, juddering or frame rate drops you get with Vsync On

Cons

- Price, even though I'm impressed with it, it's still too costly!
- No way of knowing if G-Sync was on, other than pressing the OSD, which wasn't mentioned.
- Did not know I had to have G-Sync and Vsync On for certain games
- A little washed out for a high price at default, had to be adjusted
- When frame rates drop below 60 in games such as Fallout 4 Gsync doesn't help with noticing the low frames, it just feels awful. - Better over 60!

Games Tested

- Battlefield 4 : This is when it really shines, just amazing I could almost say I was drooling it was so good
- Ass Creed : Had to turn off AA to get it to stay above 60, but other than that, it was like a completely different game
- Fallout 4 : Gsync + 1440p just isn't helping here with my mods and sweetfx, many times it went under 60fps sometimes as low as 40 and it looks and feels awful. Plus flickering on vegetation which I didn't get with the 1080p. Not to be too harsh though, the Creation/Gamebyro engine is really out of date now.
- Dungeon Kingdom : In early access, with frame rates dropping below 60 at times it feels distinctly laggy even with G-Sync.
- The Quest : Playing retro styled games in 1440p is just wow, my draw dropped!

Low fps sucks regardless of the technology, but it is much better with g-sync than a regular monitor. While the overall frame rate does feel sluggish, sudden frame drops are much less jarring.

That doesn't seem to be the case with Fallout 4, it really does feel worse with G-Sync/Vsync.

But the engine sucks balls
