**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

Can I ask why? Even I'm not upgrading from my 980ti. Or did the itch get too strong? :p

for me the answer for an upgrade from my 980ti is simple - VR. I personally don't think 4k gaming is what people want. It's either widescreen, multi-monitor or VR at 100fps.

I don't think many people want vr. 4K at high fps is the next logical step.

4K high fps for me also. Currently sitting on a 4K monitor and can't wait for the g sync hdr 144hz monitors to drop. Will be swiping one of them asap. Personally have no interest in ultra wide, multi monitor or VR.

Why are they comparing it to a GTX 980 on their website? "3x Faster" yeah... but not compared to a 1080 or even a 980 ti.

And can someone tell me if it's possible to buy it in the USA from, say, EVGA, and have a UK warranty when bringing it back to this country? So you send it to EVGA UK as opposed to USA?

Very surprised at the price and specs to be honest, I was expecting $799. And 5% slower than the TXP.

The £100 drop is going to put a lot on the competition. AMD is going to struggle I think, a VEGA card with hbm2 competing with the 1080/Ti won't come cheap.

If the 35% is true over the 1080's then I'll be keeping a close eye. Possibly single Ti for me, thinking about ditching SLI at the minute.

Same for me. I expected 8GB slightly slower than TXP and $800, so when watching the forums at work last night, I really was shocked in truth. I might even go for a FE card this time and tempted to go back to water cooling now that Spring is on its way but undecided on that. Roll on next week I say anyways!

Maybe because their data shows that the largest chunk of the community is using a 980. I'm one of them :p

Obviously some custom models will be £800, some will also be £650. I don't know why some of you have to be so pedantic.

Fact is everyone saying it's going to be £900 or so was wrong, yet some still choose to argue it, nvidia came up with a decent price, lets just move on yeah?
