**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

Actually, I saw several people who specifically said they want FE versions as they will watercool them.

I have 2 TXP blocks/backplates coming today :). I'll be getting two EVGA FE cards purely for the waterblock warranty.

Easy complains on price but won't be long until he posts in the owners thread because he has caved and bought one :p.

Take the ants out yer pants man, wait and save yourself hundreds of pounds when these inevitably die a short lifespan. You only need to look at the last 3 generations to see how much of a mug Nvidia make of enthusiasts.

If you own a 4k monitor though its a tough position to be in because you could be trapped in the loop of future 4k performance for a long time, what might run Deus Ex today @60fps might not run Star Citizen tomorrow @60fps. So you follow that line of thinking you end up spending what maybe 50% the cost of a 1080Ti and game at 1440p and then 2yrs later look at Volta Ti or Vega RX FFS and face the same dilemma because Crysis 4 is due out or VR 4K which needs 90fps. My point is from a financial PoV your kind of screwed either way if you want to play the latest and greatest the only way to avoid that imho is to limit your games and gaming hardware to minus 2yrs. Yes the sensible thing to do is not jump into 4K gaming right now but if you have a 4K monitor already and a last gen 980-type gpu then a 1080Ti buys you the time until Volta's successor.

We all have different taste me I don't mind 60Hz 4k with all the bells turned up which my 980 Ti can't do don't get me wrong it still is a fantastic 1440p card and imo a solid entry card for 4k for you to get a taste of 4k gaming with all the visuals

Yeah its laughble really all these statments people make about how others choose to spend their money. I get the feeling its a way of making themselves feel better about not getting the latest tech!

My GTX1080 is categorically not in any way enough to take full advantage of my 165hz swift. The card is a good 1440p card, but it doesnt push frame rates anywhere near what I want!

Out of interest, what games are you playing at 2560 x 1440 and what Hz are you getting? I am considering a decent high Hz display and a new card.

what was a poor decision imho is anyone who jumped on a GTX 1080 for 4k gaming because it wasn't quite enough, 1080Ti does seem the first consumer GPU (Titan doesn't count in my book) to do this hopefully followed by Vega

This is me also. More than happy with 60hz as I don't do twitch gaming. My 1070 just about managed 4K with some tweaks to setttings. 1080Ti would be perfect. I am happy it is here. Just need to wait a little longer for such performance to drop from £700 to £400 or less when Vega or Volta comes and I will grab such card :D

I still don't think even the 1080TI is a real 4k card and pretty sure Vega won't be either and no I don't care how much fps will show in Doom ...
Volta however should bring us 4k at decent speed. That's my expectation anyway.

How so? It's been the fastest on the market for nearly a year(obviously except the titan). They have no doubt enjoyed using it. If you apply a bit of common sense on the settings then it's perfectly fine.

No card does 4k well enough for me to make the jump from 1440p yet, but that's my opinion, I'm not going to tell others they make bad choices lol.

Can't wait to get my hands on it. Zelda is getting 10 out of 10 in many places. I loved Ocarina of Time back in the day on my N64, this sounds like it might top it. It is not often that I am more excited about a console game vs PC, but this is one of those times :D

Oh I member Ocarina of Time. Still my favourite game of all time. If the new Zelda is even close to as good as that I might be getting a switch too :|
