I've no interest in 4k until it can be done at 100Hz+, and I have my doubts that the next generation of cards would be able to reach that level even if there were monitors available which were capable of it.

I'll stick with 1440p at 144Hz for now, and this card looks like it ticks all of the boxes for that.

If only we always waited for the next gen gpu / cpu etc no one would ever upgrade.

The 1080ti is a huge jump in performance compared to my 980ti. I have waited as I didn't jump straight in for a 1080 as it wasn't a good enough jump in performance and the TXP was too costly for me.
 
Man this is so tempting! I held off from buying a switch to see how these would be priced. I might be tempted when OCUK put them up for pre order. Are they actually released on the 6th in the U.K.?

I went with the Switch. Going to be playing it on Saturday all day, will even take it with me to the toilet and play while taking a dump :p

Can't wait to get my hands on it. Zelda is getting 10 out of 10 in many places. I loved Ocarina of Time back in the day on my N64, this sounds like it might top it. It is not often that I am more excited about a console game vs PC, but this is one of those times :D

Yeah its laughble really all these statments people make about how others choose to spend their money. I get the feeling its a way of making themselves feel better about not getting the latest tech!

My GTX1080 is categorically not in any way enough to take full advantage of my 165hz swift. The card is a good 1440p card, but it doesnt push frame rates anywhere near what I want!

I can't afford both so it's a tough decision for me! I will probably get the other down the line when the Mrs gets her redundancy package, the Switch launch games don't do it for me bar Zelda and that's whats putting me off. Over £300 for one game.

You can always buy, play and sell it. By then 1080Ti custom cards will be out.

I got Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also coming next month, plus a potential few other games, so I will be keeping mine. Nothing left to play on the PC anyway for me, played everything I wanted then sold my 1070. Pray, is the next game I want to play, will play it with Vega. If Vega turns out to be a dud, then will let games I want to play build up and play them with Volta. Win win :D

Agreed, this is one of my hobbies and I can choose to spend it how I wish. I may loose a few hundred a year to keep with top gen but it's extremely nice to have the grunt to play around with.

While the 1080's are fast cards they are just not quite enough for those of us wanting the higher resolution and refresh.

This is a cop out....Most want the EVGA or Gigabyte Cards....No one and I mean no One will be dropping 700 on a clown.

So I'm correct again...

Well since Nvidia has said the FE will be as good as mid range AIO cards with the new cooler design and such so i have no issues buying one of them for £699 going to WC it in the long run anyway :p

Actually, I saw several people who specifically said they want FE versions as they will watercool them.
