**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

I want to get a 1080ti but the prices are about 50 quid over a 980ti was at launch. This is with current $>£ otherwise it would have been cheaper. Anyways knowing how 1080s was and titan xp i think ill just opt for the cheapest and put it under water.

Yer sorry didn't mean to twist your words on derail the thread. My guess it's a fair bit more work for little return. With frame caps in pretty certain they're just left overs from console ports. Take Nier Automata that's out next week for example, a game that thrives of 60fps gameplay which would be an ideal candidate for an unlocked frame rate, but I'd bet a weeks wage it will be locked at 60, Japanese dev and that.
All cool :)

I remember GTA IV back in the day and having to run Fraps recording to complete the last helicopter mission, as I would need to press a key something stupid like 50,000 presses per minute to get the bar up and that wasn't possible with high fps. Then you get Ultrawide monitors that don't have ultrawide native support and then the latest games don't support SLI or CF and it is a little infuriating.

I am 101 % sure I am not going to get one and yet all this talk about it really makes me want one .... dunno why. Trying to convince myself to wait for next gen or even the one after that .... don't bloody need a more powerful card anyway!

Sorry if this is a silly question, currently got a 500W Corsair CMPSU-500CXUK PSU, I assume this won't be powerful enough for the 1080Ti?

600w is the recommended PSU on Nvidia's site, So I'd go for a 650 at the very least, Although according to some testing on the Titan XP *basically a 1080 Ti* total system power draw is around 450W so a 650W PSU should be more than adequate.

The last developer to really push PC graphics (Crytek) have basically gone under, so what does that tell you about the sustainability of that business model?
Hasn’t it been something like 8 years since Crytek pushed graphics. Mostly all they have done in the past 8 years are rubbish mobile pay to win games which failed and that was what almost sent them under.

EDIT: hasn't UBI pushed graphics a lot recently. The Division has some of the best graphics out there.

This +1

Crytek went under because they didn't do anything after the Crysis series other than crappy F2P games which never took off.

Ubisoft have really good graphics in their games, For the most part, And are very successful.

The same can be said for DICE. I actually thought the single player Crysis games were really good - it was the multiplayer gameplay that left a lot to be desired.
