**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

My final vid for a 1080 Vs a 1080Ti

Forgot to add what card is what but clearly the 1080Ti is on the left and the 1080 is on the right :)

Thanks for uploading this video, it shows how good the cooling solution is on the MSI Gaming X. if i run the same benchmarks on the Gigiabyte 1080 Ti Gaming OC your GPU is showing between a 6- 8 C difference. My Gigiabyte 10808 Ti is defo going back.

you cannot compare benchmark runs to real life games specially without knowing his Fan/case setup.

The cooler on the MSI is big, very big and does a great job and after prolonged gaming, the highest I have seen the temps is 65c and that is with running a 1:1 fan profile.

Very true that and ambient temperature does make a difference also. The cooler on the Gigabyte 1080 does a great job but does seem a few people with the Gigabyet 1080 Gaming OC 1080Ti are not happy with how it cools.

What resolution is this? 3440x1440 or 2560x1440? Big difference and not clear from your intro.
All games tested at 1440P max settings, except for Rise of the Tomb Raider, which is running at SMAA x1 instead of X4.

i would assume from this its standard 2560x1440p as this was before he got his monitor

so much for most 3rd party company's trying not to replicate the 1080 fiasco.................. where the bloody hell are my cards :p

and zotac even had the cheek to send a batch of there ugly "blower card" that no 1 really cares about and no amp/amp extream............................

and asus just didnt seem to turn up at all :p

im getting anxious here!

all u lot playing with your sexy new cards and im sat here borderline crying lol

knew i should have jumped ship to gigabyte/msi but they look so ugly....... curse my search for pretty cards that will look good in my system (strix is mine/zotac for my buddy)

Returned the strix due to excessive coile whine, testing the Msi and much better, there is some but much better then the Asus model, coile whine really ****** me off though, great cards but to much current passing through but i will keep the Gaming X much better fans too. I liked the Strix but just bad luck maybe although i suspect all TI´S will have some sort of whine, just to much electrical current passing through the inductors causing vibration is inevitable.

Are zotac going to do a global release of the amp cards or are they just doing the let's release it in asia and china first ? Looks like asus is taking the **** with the UK on shipping the strix, glad i didn't order that, it's in stock on newegg and god knows how long for.

Review is done and uploaded for those interested. Crap as always but I enjoy doing them :)

Great review, covered pretty much all of it. Though I must ask... surely the UW 1440p monitor won't fit in place where that current monitor is? Seems to small a gap to fit such a wide monitor lol.

My only criticism of the review, is something that most revews leave out, proper benchmarks for the overclocked card. I.e. the graphs comparing overclocked results to stock results (even if the OC differs between cards). The little bit of Ghost Recon was helpful, but as the rest of the benchmarks showed, it all differs in each game. I'd want to know how each game improves with the overclock.

If you ever wanted to do a follow up video for any overclocked results, I'd be eager to watch it!

Nice GPU, but it's hard to find and I personally don't feel it's worth £700-800. So I'd be happy to pick one of these up come the 1100 series, if the 1170 disappoints.

The thing is GPU Boost takes over, pretty much any AIB card will hit 1960mhz out of the box.

@Gregster Nice review BTY

Thanks and my small gaming gap is actually bigger than it seems and the UW fits in with loads of room to spare, as seen near the end of my review. I certainly will be doing a follow up review as well with OC results compared to stock results and my stable clock does appear to be 2050Mhz, which does bounce to 2062Mhz at times but for now, I am enjoying some games and chilling but will certainly do that next week :)

Thanks @Menta38 and everyone else who has given nice comments. Makes it worth doing :)

One comment on my review really did make me chuckle and it was "Thumbs down - The volume is louder than other youtube video's" :D

True OC SWEET SPOT sits 2050Mhz with a custom profile, this will be my settings for gaming. good performance balance and quiet. You just cant go wrong with MSI they nailed the design and those fans are awesome not just publicity they really are. Like i said before i had 1080 gaming X and was very happy so naturally the TI is also great, Not to say the Strix is BAD. but i will stick with MSI, Overclocking is great but i take silence serious :v and the strix falls short to some degree excluding coile whine thats just the luck of the straw. there will always be some in these power cards thats the nice thing in next gen cards TDP goes down and the issue nearly resolved.

I think i will enjoy my card too. enough of OCD IT IS NOT HEALTHY :) :D  I hope you guys get your cards too and rest..stress full as **** i think i will not be waiting on new cards and being a early adopter from now on.. I always think like this after the fact but this time i am pretty serious :)

This just does not bode well for us who are waiting for the strix. No doubt I'll end up waiting weeks and then returning it due to whine. So annoying that I almost know this is going to happen. Question is do I change my order now to the Aorus or wait to see if the strix has whine like my 1080 did?

One card does not mean all cards will have the whine issue , my case was a bit extreme so i had no choice. wait and see what happens no point in cancelling IMHO
