**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

Ha, everyone knocks em. They get a lot of stuff bang on though.

Decent lil site imho.

Wait... you are talking about the same WCCFTech right? You sure about that? Cos I might have to ignore your posts as hocus, made to annoy people who are looking for legit info and get clicks on some terrible website lol.

(don't take it personally, just a joke)

I honestly dont even know why people on a 1080 are looking to getting the Ti

Because some folks just love to spend money on things that aren't worth it for them/they don't need. Wouldn't it be funny if the 1080ti was slower than the Titan XP and some 1080 owners still lap it up like gold-dust?

Ti is only worth it from 980ti/1070 or lower. Heck, maybe just the 980ti since the 1070's price puts it far too close.

Not to say I dismiss them, some stuff is good info but using Polaris as an example, I think they covered every spectrum of clock speed pre launch so they'll get some things bang on with the sheer amount of speculation they put out.

On a separate note after generally giving up in the Vega thread, big thanks out to those following Red Team for not retorting with chaos in here, well done.:)

what about from a 980?

what about from a 980?

I said anything under a 980ti or below, so that includes 980. A 980 to 1080ti, should be a fairly decent upgrade, considering pricing too. Sure you'll be paying a lot more, but the performance difference should be a major boost, especially considering the difference between the 980 and 1080.

But as the above post mentioned, it really does depend on your settings. If you like playiung at 1080p60, then a 1080ti would probably be overkill. I'd say even 1440p60 it would also be overkill. If the 1080ti performs as well as we hope it does, it may be the most suitable card (at it's release) for likes of 4k60 and 1440p100+

I've got a 1440p144Hz monitor, so of course I'm looking at something like the 1080ti (or Big Vega, fingers crossed) to make the best use of it. And in the future I'll look to get a 4k144Hz monitor, when those become more widely available for a reasonable cost.

Shown in March, but released when?
When's the 1100 series likely to land?

Never mind that, look at the expected price! At just under $1000 by the time we get to March and the exchange rate that is going to be over £1000 in the UK anyway.

When is it earmarked to be released? if its soon then I will wait for it instead of going Ti.

Volta isnt until 2018. Always has been on Nvidia's roadmap.

2017 is just a refresh of the 10xx series with slightly faster clocks and maximum overclocks.

I expect a full range all 10% to 20% quicker than the existing 10 series.

But thats only at stock clocks. Maxed out overclocks i expect the difference to be less than 5%.

Going to be a disappointing year 2017.

Well put. I'm 1440p 144hz as well, so I think will get aTi until there are 4k 144hZ monitors

ROG Swift

Well in that case you and I could benefit. A 980 for me on BF1 Ultra gets me 55-80fps, I have to drop down to medium just to be comfortable and be smooth around 80-100fps.

I say it depends on what monitor you're running because IMO if you're on a 1080p, a GTX 980 is still sufficient unless your trying to run 1080p144fps - in that case, dont know much in that regard
